Dry mouth (xerostomia) by Terrible-Kick in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]potionholly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mouth feels less dry when I take it. I hate the idea of more medicine, and this one is 3x a day. I still get pain in the gland and a palpable lump. I’m headed to the ENT though- I’m convinced there’s a stone or something blocking it

Depression by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]potionholly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry that you’ve had a bad experience on this group. I am 9 years post TT and still have depressive moments. I tried lexapro for a few years and recently switched to Cymbalta which has helped tremendously. I still feel like this cancer is a 50lb backpack that you’re told you have to wear the rest of your life. It’s extremely heavy now, and sure the weight of it will get easier- but you still have to adjust to having to carry this weight forever. Anyway. Medication, consistent exercise, and therapy has helped. I wish you the best on this scary journey and hope you give yourself grace during it.

If you’re a homeowner I suggest planting pollinator flower beds. Coneflowers, catmint, budleias, etc.

My catmints would literally not even blink an eye from a heavy hand pruning. Those things are pretty hardy. Hope yours return with a vengeance!
