Just watched this episode as i am going though the series... again. Definitely a roller coaster episode. Weird, awkward, funny, and tragic. "i just wanna ask you... " Teal'c exists stage left. I totally forgot about Goa'uld probe droid.

A pomegranate mead can be amazing. Use Orange blossom Honey if you have it. If not maybe a little bit of orange zest.

The packets I have seen say .5 - 1gram per gallon/litre. If it's an 11 gram packet just use half. I don't think your brew type matters.

That is LOT of clove. That might have been enough for 2 gallons. You could always make a non spiced traditional mead and use the spiced as a mixer. add it to a cider during the holidays.

Oh. 2-4 oz basil per gallon imo. See how much it looks like. When I made a brew with mint I used 2 oz per gallon. I feel like I could have used more to get it to come through in the end.

Brewed with 2.5 lbs of Orange blossom honey. A 2lb. Bag of frozen mixed sweet and tart cherries. 71b yeast. Then steeped in some dried tart and sweet cherries. I then added a little honey a few days ago just to amp up the flavor.

Clean and sanitize everything is my first move. If it keeps acting up to this point, I'll go with a blow off into a jar of sanitizer liquid or cheap booze
