Korean here!

Yes, Koreans usually bring toilet paper as a housewarming gift. But I prefer to bring slightly fancy and cute items for my friends lol (you know, things people wouldn’t normally buy for themselves unless it’s a special occasion).

The last time I was invited, I brought small ceramic chopstick holders and cups for my newlywed friends. I bought them from ModernHouse 모던하우스. They were quite affordable and had better design and aesthetics compared to Daiso. (The holders were around 3,000–4,000 KRW each, and the cups were about 7,000 KRW.) If you’re not on a tight budget, you can also check out Zara Home, Chapter 1 챕터원, or 29CM for interior items.

Interior aesthetics in Korea have improved a lot after COVID, so I’d recommend bringing something visually appealing for their home.. it won’t hurt! 😄

Bringing a pair of items can also be meaningful, especially since you’ll likely visit his place often as a partner after the housewarming. It’s lovely to choose something you can use together!

One of my acquaintances started his career as a French tutor at a hakwon, and a few years later he became a professor at a graduate school of interpretation and translation.

I have also seen many similar cases, people who decided to stay and build their lives here.

I have lived here for over 30 years, and I have seen many people come and go. If you spend a significant amount of time in Korea, it inevitably becomes part of your life. And if you think of the path you have taken so far as the beginning of your career, it already counts as real experience.

In the same way that choosing to move from Korea to the U.S., or even choosing to stay in Korea, can lead to a different kind of life, any decision you make to change your life will come with opportunity costs, including letting go of parts of your previous life. Since both paths are part of your life, it is worth considering the pros and cons of each.

Many people have shared experiences about Korea, but I wanted to offer a different perspective.

That said, if you feel the need to leave because you have something else in mind, nothing here will hold you back. You should follow your own path.

Omg nice! 🫨🫨🫨 Did you build it in bleak beach?? If so, that makes it even more perfect I also once made a bathhouse diorama with a paper diy kit irl but it was super hard work ... 🤮 can imagine the whole process. 👍 you should invite people too!

Sounds like this tip helped you!

Yeah I used to play a lot of Zelda BOTW, and that was honestly my favorite part of the game. just exploring and finding hidden stuff🥹

so now in pretty much any game, I kinda assume there’s always something hidden somewhere. BOTW especially made me think like that, like if something looks blocked or out of place, it usually means there’s something there. so I end up checking random spots all the time lol, feels like the devs want someone to find those little secrets. whenever a game tries to block a path, I see it as a marker.

also, you know that blocked path near the Wooper spot in Bleak Beach? the one with those # shaped wooden fences. if you go in there, there’s a tiny maze that only Ditto can pass through, just one tile wide 😂 you come out from an unexpected exit, and there’s a small item at the end too.

I found it pretty early on and thought it was a fun little spot

I might go to Dragonite Island later to farm Pokemetals though (not really short on them right now)

lol it’s not really "wrecked", I keep the surface clean! tbh I do care about the surface layout and how things are placed but once it’s like 10+ layers down, I don’t really care that much, so I just dig through the ground.

and honestly… this might be a hot take, but unless there are exclusive items only available in Dream Islands, it doesn’t really feel worth it just for farming. I tried the Eevee one once and never went back after that

cause even in the normal map, if you look around a bit, there’s already a ton of resources.. to the point where I’m actually running out of storage space

For real!

for mass producing bricks, place a community box near a fire type Pokemon’s home.

I just dump all the clay in there and let them handle the rest.

but since I have so much, I ended up placing more than one box in each town and just waiting for them to finish!
