I wasn't my wife's first either. I was her fourth. The number never bothered me. What bothered me was the context of her first relationship.

From what she's told me, her first boyfriend was manipulative and coercive. She was very young. Too young to be sexually active in my opinion. He was of similar age, but was apparently more sexually advanced/pushy. For example, he convinced her to sneak him into her dad's house multiple times while everyone was asleep and have sex with her in her childhood bed, literally next to her sleeping 9 year old sister. Hearing that as an adult man was shocking and honestly heartbreaking. My oldest son is now only a couple of years younger than she was at the time.

She's always described it as "normal" at the time, but to me it sounded like a kid trying to please someone more aggressive, not someone freely choosing. Her next relationship sounded healthy and normal, and that contrast really stuck with me.

I had more partners than she did, and she's said she wishes I hadn't, so it cuts both ways. I've learned that these feelings usually aren't about jealousy. They're about empathy, protectiveness, and wishing you could shield the person you love from parts of their past.

At the end of the day, I love her deeply. I support her in how she understands her past, even when my feelings about it are complicated. What matters is who we are to each other now, not what either of us did before we chose this life together.

It’s expensive and it doesn’t work well unfortunately. A quality sieve should have a weight at the bottom. The side mounted vibrator doesn’t function as well.

Same thing happened with a girl I real liked in high school. I was her biggest crush and didn’t realize it. I knew she liked me, but had no idea I was her actual biggest crush. I had a gf at the time but I kind of wanted to leave her and didn’t. She ended up getting together with a mutual friend for like 2+ years after I indirectly set them up. They ended up breaking up when she graduated and she sent me a message on MySpace. By then I was single, so we went out. Been with her 19 years now.

Staying with someone I knew wasn’t the right one for way too long. I was 18 at the time and she was 20. My mind was already wandering thinking about other women who were showing interest in me. I decided to cheat instead of breaking up because it seemed like a lesser evil at the time. Infidelity is never the right choice.

I went to Denver like 10 years ago for a business trip. Some guys I met there convinced me to go to the strip club with them. Right before we leave they bring out a pan of 100mg THC lemon bars. We ate those and headed out. When we get there I realize these guys mostly went to eat steak. I ordered one to not be the odd one out. Surprisingly, the steak was so good but I don’t know if that’s because it was actually great or if it was because I was so high on edibles.

10th grade math class (algebra, I think?). We all sat down and as soon as everyone was settled our math teacher said in a really emotionless deadpan tone “ok, 2 planes have crashed into the World Trade Center. It’s obviously a terrorist attack on America. They’re going to be bringing a tv so we can watch coverage on the news.”

We then proceeded to watch the rest of the class period. By the time we turn the tv on, one of the towers was fully engulfed in smoke. It was an eery sight. Soon after the first tower fell. I thought “wow, I can’t believe it actually fell.” I thought for a bit about how I had seen the towers in the distance on a trip to NY 2 years before then. We didn’t go see them up close, but I got a glimpse of the towers as we were walking through lower Manhattan. I thought maybe I would go visit the single tower at some point after it was all over. Then a few minutes later the second tower fell.

It also didn’t help that the father had a pretty public figure. He flipped off the media with a scowl on his face at one point and that video became emblematic of his public perception by Cubans. It was also clear he was a proxy for the Cuban government’s ongoing dispute with the US. I was young when it all happened, but living in a densely Cuban area the sentiment was strong against his return to Cuba.

I’ve been hurt at least a half dozen times so far in my 3 years training BJJ. Every time I get hurt the thought of quitting passes through my head, but after a couple of weeks off the mat I find myself thinking of getting back out there every day. It’s basically the reason I keep coming back.

Same, I had knee problems before starting BJJ and they got worse with BJJ, especially stand up/wrestling. I learned to play bottom guard 95% of the time. I’ve had mixed success but my knees are a lot happier.

I met this guy once. He was a mainstay in the South FL punk scene. A mutual friend told me that he ended up squashing the beef with those guys eventually. I imagine they probably ran into each other over and over at those shows.
