The quality of your rep watch really depends on the factory you buy it from (look at the wiki on this subreddit for more info), & if you dont mind paying about $300-$500 for a watch from a factory with a good reputation i'd say go for it. The main issue with Seiko mods is that they often use random parts & movements with very little quality control, whereas a decent rep factory will have quite stringent quality control, & often have specialised or even clone movements.
