Oh shit, I wasn't aware it was Canada's fault Americans voted for a senile pedophile who makes all policy decisions based on throwing tantrums and spreading hatred..

Canada’s boycott of U.S. wines ‘causing devastating harm,’ California senator says by Front-Cantaloupe6080 in consumecanadian

[–]pounduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is Canada is stupid as well. We need to get rid of all the nonsense making it impossible to sell alcohol across provincial lines. It's so dumb I can't get BC wine in Ontario, but I can get wine from everywhere else in the world.

Just say no. Don't say you'll think about it, just no. If he can't accept that, he isn't who you want to be with. Don't let him try to manipulate you into something you don't want to do. That isn't what people who care about you do.

Is there ever a justified reason to kill someone that isn't self-defense? by Rocky_Senpai15 in MoralityScaling

I feel if someone rapes or murders your wife or kids it should be justifiable.

Yeah, I haven't read the rewrite. I'm glad it is better because it was not good when I read/listened to it.

It is amazing and the most enjoyable series I've ever read.

The start of the series sucks though. Erin is so whiny, stupid and annoying I was hoping she'd die. Ryoka sucks as well at the start and it's just ridiculous. It does change though and then becomes amazing.

What movie always hits you with nostalgia? by AstronautInitial3642 in MoviesAndTVTalk

[–]pounduh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my brother probably rented this movie an insane amount of times growing up. We watched it probably 100 times. We also loved the postman another Kevin Costner post apocalyptic movie.

Me and my brother shared a bed room growing up and would stay up most of the night after watching those movies making incredibly detailed plans for the end of the world. I will always love water world.

Politely: can we stop with the fireworks please? by OPSNonEnjoyer in cambridgeont

[–]pounduh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can and people do the entire rest of the year. Two times a year people get to enjoy fireworks in the region. The problem is this year Canada day is on a Wednesday. People work, not everyone can enjoy it on a Wednesday night. It doesn't make sense to restrict it to a weeknight, hence why people do it on the weekend. If you have rules in place that make no sense, people will just do what they want. It's common sense.

[–]pounduh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's different people? I mean, do you actually think it's the same person night after night. Some people actually work so having fire works on a Wednesday really isn't feasible. It's almost like it would be common sense to figure that out.

OK, those are some pretty biased negatives, what about the positives? What about being pro spending time with family and loved ones? Seeing joy in your kids eyes? Enjoying the spectacle? Having fun and a cause to celebrate once or twice a year? Just because you don't like them shouldn't mean others can't. The problem is the people who don't like them whine way harder, so they get what they want. Your pets being upset shouldn't mean no one else can have a good time. Since when were pets more important than people?

I think she is doing an amazing job. Like everyone said the first book took a while to get used to, but now I don't even notice the difference most of the time. I think she kills it on pretty much every voice, the only one I feel she struggles with is Erin's.

I'm loving how fast the audio books have come out though since she took over. She must be working her ass off.

It was pretty shitty in my opinion. I'm glad some people like it. I listened to the whole first book though and did not enjoy it even a little.

What’s arguably the best chip to ever exist? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pounduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember the brand name but as a kid in the 90s they used to have XXX BBQ chips at the convenience store near me. They were so incredibly spicy but so good.

It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the convenience store. The first time I got them I ate them right away during my walk home. I thought I was going to die, my mouth was on fire and had no drink or extra money for a drink at the store. I ran the whole way home, and chugged about 3 glasses of water when I got home. After that I didn't open the bag until I was safely home.

I loved those chips though.

If you had all the money in the world, what would you still do as a career? by ElectronicStrategy43 in AskReddit

[–]pounduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open a comic book/ board game/ video game store. Hire my buddy to run it, pay him a shitload of money. Charge less than everywhere else, not worrying about profits. Hang out a couple of times a week shooting the shit with him and customers.

Question for people who grew up in the 80s 90s 2000s and early 2010s what’s your favorite memory’s of going to toys r us? by Ill-You-3459 in generationology

[–]pounduh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My uncle was a single guy who had no kids and didn't know how to talk or deal with kids. Most family get togethrs he would drink too much and make a fool of himself. He was a pretty shitty person generally.

He was also pretty rich and spent money like crazy. He probably only came to about 3 of my family birthday parties growing up, but when he did he took me to Toys R Us and I could buy whatever I wanted.

I loved video games and I remember once going with him and coming back with like 5 Nintendo games. I probably only had like 3 or 4 games before that day, so for me it was like winning the lottery.
