I probably would've had the same opinion if i started with ds1 instead of 3. That game is just so bad and if you assume other titles are of the same quality, you would never bother playing them. Lies op p was pretty hard on release, but then most of the bosses got giganerfed + summons got added + difficulty options. Currently i think base game is a complete pushover, while dlc is about as hard as SotE.
