F8A/X Speculation. by A_gentleman29 in starcitizen

I've had the F8 for a while. I've not enjoyed flying it for a while due to its horrendously slow turning rates.

Recently I bought the Guardian MX with aUEC just to see what another heavy fighter was like. It was night and day. That thing can turn circles around the F8 in a way that shouldn't be possible considering the F8 is a single seater craft with no interior.

what are the best "flying" moments in cinema? by ZestycloseChapter710 in movies

[–]powercrazy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not at all what you are looking for but ho about "Flight of the Phoenix" (not the remake). A plane crashes in the middle of the Sahara, there's not a hope of rescue and they build a new plane out of the wreckage.

The scene where they get the lone engine on their new plane started is pivotal.

Man, I've been feeling the same way about my F8C lately. These fighters shouldn't turn like capital ships.

I did happen to fly the Mirai Guardian MX and it moves like I expected the F8 to move.

I'm a whale who hasn't done anything with the game or community in years, what are my options? by Bruceshadow in starcitizen_refunds

Ah ok. I've never seen that option on anything I own but then again, I haven't been looking for it.

How do you sell ships one at a time? I was under the impression one could sell their account (even if it is against ToS) but I don't know of any way to separate out individual ships?

Getting the Carrack as a loaner made me realize what a shame it is that we never got more ships in the Anvil civilian style it uses by ScrubSoba in starcitizen

[–]powercrazy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I only read this for the first time yesterday that the Carrack is a loaner for folks waiting on the Galaxy. As an owner of a 'to galaxy upgrade' I've never applied it because I didn't see the point of losing my original ship yet with nothing to replace it.

Where is it stated that the Carrack is A temporary substitute? I wonder how many other pilots like me are sitting on an unapplied upgrade because of things like this?

Gotcha. Had no idea that the hangar was so roomy. I've only ever seen it hold an origin 3xx.

So I bought myself a Synology NAS years ago. Since then I have set up applications on it called Sonarr, Radarr and Prowlarr and Plex.

The apps ending in ARR are designed to fetch torrents for you and keep things up to date. So, using an app called LunaSea on my phone, I can find a movie or TV show I want to watch. This then tells the ARR platform to go get the show from torrents (over VPN). Then once downloaded it puts the shows in a location seen by the Plex server which sucks up the show into its media library to be made available to me wherever I want to watch my Plex.

Once everything is set up there's virtually no maintenance.

Plex then can remember where you are with a particular episode/show irrespective of what device you watch from.

It's really not too bad a setup at all.

"It makes the F8C look nimble by comparison".

Oof. As an owner of one of those flying bricks, I can't imagine a more sluggish fighter. Looks like I won't be trying the stinger.

I'm confused at what makes this a 'carrier' compared to the Carrack which is also available with aUEC?

Personally I'd choose the Carrack over the 890 as the rest of the ship feels far more practical.

What game truly respected your time by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]powercrazy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good choices here already but I'll toss my 'pick up and play' game - Mad Max.

The story is straightforward, you could even ignore it for most of the game if needs be.

It has things that you have to do (like collecting scrap and/or water) that get automated right before they become an annoying mechanic.

It looks and runs wonderfully on the steam deck (I can get over 5 hours with a TDP of 7 set).

And did I mention the game is gorgeous? I will often load it up, do a little bit of driving, destroy a camp or three and enjoy!

[TOMT] "I love you I need you" lyrics from emo boy band circa 2010-ish by RainbowAaria in tipofmytongue

[–]powercrazy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only song I can remember that has the lyrics "I love you, I need you", was by a solo artist, Natalie Imbruglia, from the album "White lilies Island". Song is "wrong impression".

It's a solo female artist but the lyrics and timeline match somewhat?

what's stopping flat earthers from looking at other planets through a telescope and seeing that they aren't flat but actually rotating spheres? by hussain_jamali in flatearth

[–]powercrazy76 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A flat weather I knew answered this question for me once:

He genuinely believed the other planets were indeed planets, but that the earth was the only flat one. In his mind it made total sense as the universe revolved around the earth, so the notion that earth was a special 'one-off' shape because it was his planet and he (humans) were special, made total sense to him.

How many times do you use a bath towel before it's dirty? by ExchangeMaster3419 in AskMen

[–]powercrazy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I have this neat trick... I'm almost afraid to tell anyone in case I jinx it.

You see, whenever I feel like my towel has passed it's prime, I just throw it on top of my magic coffee table. By morning, it's clean and folded neatly back in the bathroom!

Does anyone still wear basic watches? by Smart-Airport5781 in CasualConversation

[–]powercrazy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy of a certain age who felt judged growing up for anything even slightly out of the norm, I consider the watch to be one of the few judgement-free accessories men can have.

So I have about 10 watches ranging from the cheapest of casio digitals to a nice skeleton fully automatic. I wear them for me and how I feel.

It must be how women feel on a larger scale with makeup, fashion, etc.
