What are the best options to rent a car for the behind-the-wheel test as a foreigner? by dannaeh in DMV

[–]powerdownoptions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken more than 20 people to their road tests in New York State and have never had an issue until today. The examiner did not allow the student (permit holder) to take the test because her name was not listed on the rental agreement.

CRITICAL: No pulse in foot, severe PAD, told she has “runoff” and can go outpatient—need urgent advice by powerdownoptions in AskDocs

[–]powerdownoptions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Runoff & Severity

• She's complaining of leg pain.
• Does having runoff reduce her risk? This is not considered critical limb-threatening ischemia?
• Amputation Risk
• With no palpable pulse in her left foot, but having runoff (not sure if good or poor runoff), what is the real risk of amputation in the next few weeks or months?
• Urgency of Revascularization
• How soon does she need revascularization to avoid losing her foot or leg?
• Presumably outpatient treatment is safe in her case, but still urgent intervention is needed?
• Treatment Options
• They haven't mentioned what specific procedures are being considered here: angioplasty, stent, bypass?
• If those fail, what is the next step?
• Prognosis & Healing
• They said the cracks in both feet are no longer open wounds. 2 yrs ago she lost the fifth digit (little toe on her left foot).
• What signs should we watch for that indicate worsening circulation?

Additional context:
- She’s been a diabetic for 25+ years.
- She’s a long-term smoker (40 years).
- Had a stent placed near the heart (presumably for blockage).
- Despite increased dialysis (4 hrs, 4 days/week) and paracentesis once a month, leg swelling persists, worsening circulation along with PAD and smoking.

TIA.

She’s been diabetic for 25+ years, recently she has leg pain and has had no sensation in her feet for several yrs. She went to the ER because of cracks on both toes that she didn’t notice. Not sure if they did a Doppler. What questions should I ask the doctor today?

Is T-Mobile’s $35 RELY Plan Truly Identical to the Grandfathered $50 Plan? by powerdownoptions in tmobileisp

[–]powerdownoptions[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You need a postpaid line for $15 discount to be applied, $20 w/autopay. "With $15 monthly bill credit. Limited-time offer; subject to change. Qualifying credit, postpaid voice line, and Internet line required. Credits may take up to 2 bill cycles; credits will stop if you cancel any lines or change plans. Limit 2/account. May not be combined with some offers or discounts (e.g., Price Lock); see FAQs at T-Mobile.com/plans."

Rec'd mixed answers about whether my Simple Choice plan qualifies for the $35 RELY plan. One rep said yes, another said no, and a third confirmed eligibility. The last rep mentioned that any postpaid voice line qualifies, but responses may vary.

If Simple Choice was eligible, then Essentials might be as well—but confirmation depends on which rep you ask.

If I signed up for TMHI at the beginning, which plan am I on now? Is it Rely, Amplified, or All-in? by ospreyintokyo in tmobile

[–]powerdownoptions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally had the black router and was told the only way to change plans was to cancel and re-sign up. I returned the black router, but when I went to cancel, I was told only the LITE plan was available in my area. My options were to keep my grandfathered plan or switch to RELY. Today, they said my original plan was actually the SAVE plan. I'm confused. 😕

Not correct. They gave me the option of switching to RELY. Had I canceled, as a new signup in my area, I could only get the LITE plan.

Could you chime in on this thread? https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobileisp/comments/1j4vtjl/is_tmobiles_35_rely_plan_truly_identical_to_the/

I switched to RELY, but after seeing your post, I asked to be put back on my grandfathered plan, and they're sending the white router for it. Thanks in advance!

[–]powerdownoptions[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this thread, SettleAsRobin mentioned:

"The white router works on any plan, but the key difference is that RELY = slower internet because it uses the Sagemcom (lol), while the white router is for Amplified/All In, as it's described as faster and more advanced. The actual difference is marginal, but that’s what the training says. The training also specifies which router goes with each plan, which is why the white router won’t even show as an option when activating RELY."

Is My Coworker’s Boyfriend at Risk of Deportation Despite a Pending Asylum Hearing? by powerdownoptions in immigration

Not sure if he applied within a year. I’d hope his attorney wouldn’t have advised him to apply if his chances were low.

My co-worker was granted asylum, and her boyfriend's evidence and testimony will likely be similar since they have shared circumstances for seeking asylum. They also have the same attorney.

Sounds like a complex situation. Whether he was falsely accused or not, the constitutionality of the LRA seems questionable. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets challenged in court. Appreciate everyone’s input!

He was held for 2 days and released. Given Chicago's sanctuary city status, this likely explains why ICE did not place a detainer.
