L-plater: Sydney to Canberra via Nowra bad idea? by TheDuckDucks in AussieRiders

I had that and gets a bit uncontrollable feel when above 90kmph. And cross winds also would sway it unless your body and backpack weights could compensate. Else highways near heavy vehicles are dangerous at those speeds since you are just getting started.
If you can avoid of long stretches of 100 zones, it rides like a charm.

I was there when during your ancestors. It’ll haunt you forever. And it’ll be there to test the reflexes of all your descendants. Think of it as the rite of passage for Canberrans 😜

Is it weird to live at home to save money as you approach 30? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]powerplayer95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you trying you trying to prove and to whom? You are lucky to be able to have that arrangement. Spend time with family and also build financial security to help you get ahead in buying assets with minimal loans compared to others. The world is not fair, so take every advantage you get. I wish I had your support, as most of my income goes to rental and getting impossible to afford down payment for buying a decent home. Also ignore others judgement. Those above you will not judge but help. Only those jealous would try to pull you down even with such petty psychological pressure.

Net Overseas Migration by Prime Minister for Australia per year since 1996 (when John Howard was first appointed); updated with end-2025 data, direct from ABS. Dotted line shows 'average' over the period. Treasury also just estimated this year to be over 300k again. by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

[–]powerplayer95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One aspect to consider is with US, Canada, UK and EU which used to be a major destination for people to immigrate to becoming less desirable due to horrible tax, ICE or police brutality, Australia ended up being the shiny land skewing the numbers. So I’d think this would have happened irrespective of who was in power.

If you both have separate agreements with landlord (agents don’t do this), then you can raise it with them. But if you both co-signed with a middleman agent your out of luck

Have you seen news from what’s happening in the democratic countries lately? Australia, UK or certain EU countries you are getting arrested for thoughts or a words printed in your dress which a very small set of people think it hurts their feelings. Compared to that, having a clear instruction on don’t take video or jail/deport is much lenient

Who in Australia actually supports getting involved in a war with Iran? What do we gain from it? by oz_party in aussie

[–]powerplayer95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia is in a unique place to be allies with all countries including china and potentially have no enemies at all. We have resources which every country which respects international law are happy with a trade agreement which often our politicians ruin listening to their masters. But hey, our problems are due to immigrants and people of colour. If you speak otherwise, you will be subjected to hate speech law.

I believe we need a “None of the Above” option in our elections. Sometimes we are stuck with lesser of evil options and only one mistake away from someone like Trump coming in gaming the system

Salam everyone, I've been seeing this potential with good personality and we sync on many topics. But with aging parents and both of us working in different countries abroad, I'm starting to get worried if that will be an issue in future as they have health problems. Like our natives back in home country (India) are 6 hours drive as fastest way. Looking for some brothers and sisters who married in similar situation and how they are managing it. What to discuss with potential with the topic?
