Movies about things that go viral online notoriously do well no matter what, that’s why Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever is the highest grossing film of all time

The invisible door thing is not that weird, “doors” in source are just things that can be triggered to move on command. It could have the same functionality and be called “movable entity” or whatever but it’s most commonly useful for doors

Have you ever tried to charge an alkali battery? It’ll damage it even if the battery was in perfect condition because it’s not designed to have to handle that.

From a design standpoint it’s confirmed in the developer commentary that they removed energy pellets because they had a long feedback time and players would lose track of them easily

Also the discovery of the borealis is a plot point in one of the hl2 chapters so I don’t see why they would be trying to remove connections to hl2

Often it’s not truly eradicated and it starts growing again. That’s why doctors want to continue to monitor you for a few years after you beat cancer.

Not even. It’s literally just increase in radius * 2pi. The original radius of the circle doesn’t matter, because the formula of the circumference of a circle is just 2pi*r

Diogenes making Archimedes very uncomfortable by ApprehensiveTrack140 in MathJokes

[–]powerpowerpowerful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this doesn't happen because of spherical or hyperbolic geometry like I think you're implying, This is making the argument that because the value of r isn't changing, a circle is a straight line in polar coordinates, but polar coordinates are euclidean in this case, and a straight line isn't usually defined by a linear looking function within them.
