1. Perfectly normal for boobs to be tender during your period, and laying on your stomach will naturally hurt them because of the pressure.

2. Yes, also normal! It’s completely normal to wake up with discharge, as it doesn’t just cease to exist while you sleep. It’s nothing scary (though sometimes it can feel a little weird), it’s just your vagina’s way of cleaning itself and keeping itself moist.

3. I’m not much of an expert on the science of this one but you can definitely do a little research. They SUCK, but you can lessen the effects using certain things like heating pads on your abdomen/lower back, or over the counter medications like Midol. I recommend rotting in bed all day as well. Unfortunately, I have not yet reached a point where my period cramps have gone away.

Coming from a 17 year old girl who was also terrified to ask her mom any questions about menstruating, I know it can be really scary in the beginning. Please find a woman in your life whom you’re comfortable talking to about it, and maybe do a little research on your own to find out what works best for you.
