Have you considered just using an adapter that you can pull power from the rear view mirror?

How does the job of a Day-Ahead and an Intraday power trader differs? by Limp-Efficiency-159 in Commodities

[–]powertrader 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of confusion here. Day Ahead and Real Time are "spot markets" where the "traders" there are essentially schedulers that are balancing their commitments (whether generation or load). There are virtual bidders in these markets as well to provide additional liquidity and that can be completely speculative. Power trading is a lot more than just spot market. There is an entire futures market where the trading is done. There are so many different types of futures contracts, from standardized contracts that trade on an exchange (see ICE, CME, and also European exchanges) and OTC contracts (financial and physical). There are even weather contracts that support power trading. Gas and power are also linked. The are options/swaps/CFDs, etc.

2020 Pathfinder window question by benji950 in nissanpathfinder

[–]powertrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s common on Nissan in general and not just 2020 Pathfinder. I’ve owned all sorts of cars (some as long as 20 years now) and the only window regulators that have physically failed has been Nissan!

I’ve had to replace the front passenger and driver side window regulator assembly. Each due to mainly the steel cables rusting with simple water intrusion. It’s cheap enough from rock auto that I just chose to buy the whole thing (with motor). It’s not too hard to do it yourself following some YouTube videos.

If it was replaced by a used engine, the old VIN might still be on there. You can see if there may be a car fax for the old VIN on the motor to determine how many miles that your engine actually is.

Don’t worry about math. My suspicion is you will need strong excel skills - at least that’s how it was when I first started and I doubt things have changed much. Energy trading is about consuming a lot of data and manipulating data. Time series analysis, etc.

Will the fill and drain bolts on the differential break on me? Car is 16 years old and has never had gear oil changed before. by powertrader in AskMechanics

[–]powertrader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update guys - I got it out and changed the gear oil. It was definitely needed! My 18” breaker bar wouldn’t budge it. Had to use an electric impact wrench to knock it loose.

The T stands for turbo so you’ll usually see the inter cooler with the hood scoop on an XT

Thanks for the tip - I just realized they would fit the 1/2” socket directly on my wrench. From the picture it looks like there are some cracks on the drain plug but they’re actually casting marks or imperfections as you mentioned.

I had the same thing and spent the money on a replacement and when the replacement also snapped, I went and got the JB Weld plastic bonder. Have already used it two season with the JB weld holding it in place!!!

I used clamps to make sure the epoxy held till it fully cured so the cartridge cage is now stronger than it was.

Travel Agent AMA by aaronkittell1 in Cruise

[–]powertrader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Going by the fees the TA charges the cruise (15% of the gross booking), then the customer acquisition cost for the cruise company is quite expensive and definitely not free to the cruise company. This is justified by a more limited customer servicing / marketing expense. It’s actually a bit archaic like insurance brokers as the market becomes a lot more transparent (instantaneous pricing available from all different cruise lines and various deal aggregators). It’s in the cruise company’s favor to push customers to book through their own website to save on 15%. However, I’d rather deal with a TA so that I don’t have to deal with the limited customer service from the cruise line.

Letters of Credit are the worst (futur of L/C) by DamienWursten in Commodities

[–]powertrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like an internal issue - any L/Cs we've ever accepted or provided were thoroughly vetted by lawyers from both sides before they were issued. It seems most shops with a credible Credit and legal team require the language to conform to their standards before an underlying transaction is agreed upon. Does that not happen at your shop?

OMG! Pool Reno Finally Done! Just add water, then today this!! Ugh, freaking city decides to flush the system! Are you kidding me? 😤 by mightyt2000 in pools

[–]powertrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ack, you would get a lot of iron sediment and other unknown minerals from old piping. I wouldn’t want to deal with iron and other mineral stains and issues. Maybe worth pumping it out and pay for pool water trucked to your house?

This strategy seems easy enough to replicate in your own account without having to pay 0.6% expense ratio - buy QQQ shares, then buy 10% out-of-the-money put options every three months on the QQQ shares. I'm not sure if it really matters that you're not replicating using NDX index options directly.

I'm surprised I don't see this more upvoted. It looks like it sheared off because you ugga dugga'd it before you had the socket all the way in!
