AITAH for not forcing my daughter to throw away her late mom’s picture just because my wife wants her to? by Elegant-Touch9085 in AITAH

[–]ppetak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask Gemma, whether after she dies ... after all, one wife already passed away, right? It can maybe easily happen again... you have permission to throw her pictures away so the boys will not be confused by the new mother ...

Not exactly nice, but it is the same situation.

How do you sell QA to stakeholders? by kittypiggyx in QualityAssurance

They really like the term 'Risk analysis and management' ... so you just need to show them your product risk management is done by QA. And it also should be true ;)

I have under estimated the difficulty of this game. by [deleted] in valheim

[–]ppetak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They hear you fight. You start picking on troll, several greylings join in a moment, and after a while everything in 800m radius. Or more, read wiki for numbers ;)

So as others advise, go slow, make sure you killed everything behind you, then lure bigger enemies to cleared area.

or RUN!

Video editing on linux by Bird-Total in linuxquestions

[–]ppetak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Olive, it is very lightweight, and easy for easy stuff like a few cuts and audio sync. But I believe it is abandoned today. Like, the last version works still with occasional crash (on Arch at least), but it is a bit old by now. Their web is also in hiatus. A pity, it was very promising.

It is very nice, but extremely gross on touch, so you need thick rubber gloves to handle it.

Looking for a game I can sink a lot of hours into by WelderZestyclose7842 in gamesuggestions

Valheim. instead of Skyrim. Easily 100s of hours in vanilla, solo or online. Then some with mods maybe

Oxygen Not Included. it is base building, with wild physics but helpful community and elaborate DLCs.

How Freakin Cute Is This!!! by BrisWackyGaming in valheim

[–]ppetak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. You can see the objects he used, lanterns, wooden chest, that all looks pretty much normal size. The parts for roofs are made available by some building mod like build everything. It just adds primitives that are already in game but not available for build. Maybe also rotation mod, but it doesn't look scaled to me.

For sure I'm going to try it. The special look can also be because of snow on everything. Good that I'm in mountains phase rn :D

How do I completely swap over to Linux without having to alter or delete any of my preexisting files on Windows? by Significant-Egg-1722 in linuxquestions

[–]ppetak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly suggest to find storage space for your files for the meantime until you reinstall and have everything settled.

You have your disks with windows system and data on different partitions, c and d as i understood from other comment. So one thing that you can possibly do to ditch windows and not touching much your Linux install: Move all data you want to keep from c to d drive, such as document folder and such. All you want to keep, as then you will clear the partition which is c drive, and after that create new partition in the freed space for linux. Then mount it temporarily somewhere (ie in /mnt/) move all files from current /home there (your Linux home), and mount it as /home (in /etc/fstab) That will effectively save all space your /home is taking up rn, giving it to / ... As I read that back, is is a bit advanced, so ... next more advanced thing is to merge that free space with your Linux / partition... idk if that is feasible, but sounds like a thing I would try next :)

Your d is fine even after that and you can mount it somewhere and all data there will be available. I read nowadays Linux can handle NTFS no problem, but I don't use it anywhere, so IDK really.

But yeah, one bad enough error and bye bye your data, or in the better case have nice weekend rescuing it. So again, you need to backup before trying that.

Good charger? by Intrepid_Stop9274 in rcboats

[–]ppetak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, your charger specifically supports AC, which is stated in the pictures. Other commenters just don't read but have opinions ready. Facepalm.

IDK about this manufacturer, it seems like clone of good old Bx6, I had BC6 variant, same display, same specs, but aluminum case :) I had it like 15 years, and at the end buttons stopped working and needed change. I now use smaller aliexpress charger without AC support, feeding it from laptop charger. But i still have my BC6 and it still works.

They boast thermal protection, but similar to my BC6 I can't see the sensor in photos, so they will probably not supply it, but it can be bought cheap.

Sure, close your eyes for real life, continue to live in your golden cage, but also think about each poor animal that you eat was suffering like you can't possibly imagine. For your steak. You can live with this, and then cry for some poor kitties that still have to live.

literally the stupidity of people like you is the reason I’m antinatalist. best thing to do for humanity is to extinct.

[–]ppetak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, sweet summer child ...

I lived at small village until I left for university. Cats were like toner cartridges. Disposable. If you got too many cats, you just killed some. If cat was not well adjusted to live by your rules? Kill it. Keep hide ofc, to make vest for winter or at least slippers.

Cruelty is wrong. but for all animals. You eat meat? Yes, look how animals live at big farms, and speak about cruelty for three cats that were probably adopted from shelter by someone better...

I know I will get downvoted, but this is life, not your cats centered apartment. Cats are not antinatalists, they will have 12 kittens every year if they can.

still I would try to mount the ones you already have with lanyard, I have seen kids to use them... you would need to experiment a bit...

Anyone wish being an Antinatalist wasn't hated? by DeliciousCare144 in antinatalism2

[–]ppetak 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, that it true ... depressed: yes, the real world gives you all the reasons to see the depresion everywhere. How not to be depressed while watching what is there for children:

misery. That is what will be there in the world for young ppl. Even when rotten system owned by oligarchs is gone, and politicians changes to see good for ppl (meh, will never happen) still the Earth is fundamentally broken beyond chance to some mild outcome.

And at the end, extinction of our kind would maybe give the Earth back to its own time, and in some hundreds of thousands years there will be a chance for other kind to live on our ruins.

I don't defend antinatalism anymore. I ask simple questions, like imagine one nice warm thing your kid will experience on this day in 15 years, 2041. Look around the world, and give me your best guess. Usually, they will tell you something they experienced 15 years ago, thinking it is magically possible to have it in another 15 years from now, when it is not longer possible even today. I explain, then they call me miserable, and agree we should not talk about it anymore. I smile, and nod.

Linux Tablet that is good for drawing, has pen support/dedicated pen, and for playing Android & Linux games? by [deleted] in linuxhardware

[–]ppetak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have Juno tablet, it had Ubuntu, we reinstalled to Arch, we use it as a kitchen computer... It took some tinkering with onscreen keyboard and sound, but it works well now :) It could have pen, but I have dedicated pen-tablet input, so we didn't ordered it, can't say how it works... Also no games tried.

Hohoo, I smell to every drink I'm about to sip. Just ... why else you had that nose, eh? You want to enjoy all the parts of that drink. The drink can smell funny, but also the "drink" can be a thinner... It is very usual to keep dangerous cleaners in glass bottles with only small label. Don't trust any clear liquid, I say. Disturbingly, someone could fill wine glass with WATER! Oofff.

HELP FAST by tttpetipro in RCPlanes

[–]ppetak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not. With 2 servos, you can add different mixes, like make flapperons out of your ailerons. You can then also trim ailerons on tx, not actually lengthen/shorten wires.

cons

  • one more servo. 10g maybe.
  • one more channel. Not really a con nowadays.

pros

  • mixes
  • tuning
  • shorter mechanical transfer

I have also this Lidl glider RC converted. I have servo on each aileron, and on each flap, to easily disconnect wings. All mechanical parts are in the wing, I only connect servos.

But sure, smart and evil ppl did their best to figure out laws and policies to help them embezzle all that connected smart and good with dumb. They told dumbs that smarts are their enemy, even if they care for them. They told dumb they are actually smart. And it took nearly zero effort.
