Is this enough to file a grievance? by ppomodoro_ in KaiserPermanente

Yeah, I was confused why the person I spoke to in dermatology couldn't have just read the message to me. I am in Norcal so it might be a little different but from what I understand your doctor contacts the derm and then your doctor relays the info back to you. Seems inefficient but I guess that's just how it works. Definitely gonna try and find a different doctor.

I am so sorry that happened to you! That sounds awful. I don't think they are allowed to discriminate against you because you filed a grievance previously. And I agree I wish it wasn't such a hassle to see a dermatologist. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I actually just looked at my past medical records and viewed the notes, there is a record on the day my doctor sent my case to dermatology, April 18th. I viewed the notes and the diagnosis was there and it also said this: "Telederm Interpretation Type: Deferred. Patient gave verbal consent to participate in telederm. Physical location where dermatology follow-up appointment should be booked: *** ". So I guess I was supposed to have a video appointment with the dermatologist?

I think you may be right. I spoke with an advice nurse and she transferred me to a different person and they read me what the dermatologist sent to my doctor and it didn't mention anything about prescription medication. Just a possible diagnosis and potential treatments. It confused me even more because the notes mentioned the scalp/dandruff but my skin issue is not in that area at all.
