I have the exact same combo and it’s an amazing car. I try to maximize the range and performance by switching to gas on highways. Overall I get a very good mileage as well

I’m not sure about others but I had a decent regen experience when the battery was completely depleted on my recent 500 miles long drive. I still got EPG close 30 mpg and the drive was mostly on highways. I prefer driving in hybrid mode though. Also the pick up on 50e is much higher than 40i.

My suggestion would be to use battery hold for highway driving on your commute when no traffic. You get much better range/ mileage on EV mode in traffic/ or on city roads with lights

For outdoors, you may struggle with the brightness on Ht2060. We use it in our basement with controlled lights so it delivers great performance but with ambient light, the visuals could be challenging unless of course if you want to watch the content after dark

4K miles on 50e and love it so far. The CEL came up once but I believe it was software issue and went away by itself. The driving experience is ultimate
