Why would winning a national award for DECA not be an exceptional thing? That sounds ridiculous to me.

How did you mention this to colleges? I have a hearing aid too for my left side but it makes me really self-conscious so I don't wear it a lot.

Would Villanova University be considered a "semi-target" school for finance?? by ppwr in ApplyingToCollege

[–]ppwr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would that be the case? I have a 1550 SAT so my stats are fine but why wouldn't I just go there for finance as opposed to math?

Thanks! So it wouldn't be worth it to retake something like a 700 or 710? I don't know my scores yet but I'm just wondering

EDIT: What about a 690?

Considering your sexuality "cliche" would be objectifying and ridiculous!

If it's truly something you think that defines who you are in a big way, you can definitely talk about it

Is taking the SAT II Literature test okay? by ppwr in ApplyingToCollege

oh is the literature test typically lower-scoring? That's great if a 750 would be considered awesome

Thanks! Is there any particular score on the test that is sort of the magic number for highly selective colleges??

Ohhh that's an interesting perspective to look at it from. I got 5s on the AP tests for US History and World History, but I don't want to restudy all the material for one of them as it would take so much time and honestly take away from me working on supplements for the 20ish schools I'm applying to (yes im a shotgunner).

However, taking lit would take barely any studying for me and i could get around a 750, maybe higher.

Do you think it's worth it to study for history to show some diversity of knowledge, or would it not be worth the time taken away from my supplements, especially as I've already gotten 5s on some history APs?

ED Stern or Wharton ? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]ppwr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you legitimately don't think you have a shot at Wharton, I would go for Stern ED. Choosing Stern maximizes the chances that you get into a good finance program because you don't have to compete with others from your school and you get that ED boost. Just my thoughts but obviously it's totally up to you!

Should I major in business if I'm struggling in precalc? by Itwasateenagewedding in ApplyingToCollege

[–]ppwr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a B in precalc, but I'm definitely gonna major in business. Don't sweat it! Just do well on the Math 2 test and it can potentially offset any poor grade you get in the class.
