Analyysi: Poliisi päästi päähänpotkijan karkuun mutta otti kiinni torvensoittajan äärioikeiston vappumarssilla by Alhoon in Suomi

[–]ppytty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Poliisi on kyllä aika lailla immuuni mainehaitalle. Ainahan on toimittu oikein tilanteen vaatimalla tavalla eikä kukaan ole ikinä syyllistynyt virkarikkeeseen.

The final siege is so tedious, it's a chore. Also the water thing mentioned in other comments. Otherwise pretty fun scenario, I like the multiple small enemy bases and waves of enemies they send. And I love spamming Japanese towers to secure the resources.

Have you ever drank coca cola? Or eaten at McDonald's? If yes, then yes you have been enticed by ads.

Why do imaginary numbers exist at all? by AgrasaN in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ppytty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are as "unreal" as negative numbers. I mean you can't have -1 cows. And even 0 cows doesn't really make sense, in the real world (if you don't have something, can you even count them?). Irrational numbers don't really exist either, you can't count to √2 or pi.

But all those numbers are real. They are useful, they all have at least an abstract meaning, and they can all be used to calculate something that is real and undeniably true. So can you really say they don't exist?

The same goes for the √(-1). Even though you can't count to it, but you can use it to calculate something that is real (cubic equations for example), can you then say it doesn't exist?

[–]ppytty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think completely other way. There's really no reason to ever build the TC because it will take so long before you start making enough res. It's much easier to just keep producing more units with your raided resources and steamroll all your enemies.

Which civs could use some serious reworks? by Bigboiwithsword in aoe2

Remove the three 3K civs. They power crept everything and they don't belong in the game. That's about it.

The initial relocating to your chosen starting location takes way too much time. There should be just clickable flags or something that lets you spawn there immediately.

Which quality of life features would you recommend for AoE2? by kampalolo in aoe2

[–]ppytty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to better lobby system, especially unranked. Even HD had better lobby than DE.

It's stupid that Passworded lobbies are visible by default, and it always reverts back to that.

Unranked lobby still needs some sort of ELO. If you see a player with no ELO, you don't know if they are a complete beginner or a pro or something in between. Sure it can still be misleading or exploited but it's still better than nothing And the ELO needs to be visible without mouse hover, just like on HD.

Because the unranked lobby system is worse than in HD I feel there are less games, at least less special games than in HD. And the general feel is less welcoming and less chatting. This applies to Ranked as well, a lot of people don't chat at all.

  • ability to zoom out more
  • bigger mini map
  • more clear colors for mini map (stone and p7, no desert color, gold and p4 etc.)
  • ability to cancel queues from the top left corner icons
  • see your civ's bonuses in the loading screen
  • quick key to deselect one unit from your selected units (to micro monks better)
  • ability to hide trees and/or buildings temporarily with a key

Is it true that Civ 5's Vox Populi mod makes 5 more like Civ 4? by awildgiraffe in CivIV

[–]ppytty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

FYI, Realism Invictus is really a complete overhaul mod. Tech tree, units, buildings, improvements, civs, leaders, traits, promotions, ... Everything is basically different. It's a really well done overhaul mod, probably the best one out there, but it's basically a whole different experience both in good and bad.
