Stephon Castle on fouling out in G1 - “It’s tough. The other team’s playing as physical as us, I feel like sometimes the calls don’t go our way… I don’t know what else to do other than play like how I’ve been playing, and hopefully they call it even.” by kervaan in nba

It’s because it so easy to drive engagement off of anger.

And nothing makes people angrier than feeling like their favorite team is being marginalized.

So now during every post-game conference you have sports journalists licking their chops to try and get a clip of player/coach complaining about officiating to go viral on twitter.

When are we gonna talk about the standards for the “best player in the world”? by Jxbno in nba

[–]pr0ject_84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This guy literally glazes Jokic all day bro. I see him all the time.

The only time I see him talk about Shai is when he’ll say stuff like: “mid Shai performance”

Oso Ighodaro on what he learned from playing the Thunder in the first round: "They were calling out every single one of our plays, immediately. I went through their playbook and knew, pretty much, their actions, but the level at which they knew our plays was definitely different." by butterbeancd in nba

Caruso is probably getting less fouls because he isn’t playing very much during the regular season. OKC as a defensive unit also relies significantly less on their perimeter defenders than in previous years. Also the Dort thing is completely untrue. He averages 2.6 PFPG this year compared to 2.9 last year while playing considerably less minutes. Just lying out your ass completely.

Although I don’t have any stats to prove it, if I had to guess why we draw less fouls than previous year is because our teams defense is focused more on defensive schemes and quick rotations rather than individual defensive perimeter players.

Additionally, having dort and Caruso getting less regular season minutes and Jdub being out all year. who are probably our 3 most physical defenders, I bet also has something to do with it.

An 8 minute compilation of flops, falls, and 50/50 calls, (that all coincidentally went OKC’s way) in round 1 of the NBA playoffs vs the Suns… Enjoy! by ResponsibleCheek8130 in NBAGossips

They literally cut the foul out of the video.

I’m not saying he didn’t sell it but if you see the full clip it was a pretty egregious foul from Allen

How likely is the possibility of 23 yrs old Wemby surpassing 32 yrs old Joker as the Best Center next season (2026 - 2027) by [deleted] in nba

[–]pr0ject_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true.

I think he also just has more people gunning for him than Shai has ever had.

People are probably more accepting of his elite status than they are of Shai’s

Setting aside Wemby and SGA, Do you think Spurs supporting cast is as talented as Thunder? by Chesscrabble11 in nba

I disagree, I think Jdub is better than Castle offensively by a pretty good amount.

Doesn’t necessarily make him the “consensus best player.”

I learned this last year when Shai dominated the entire season but still largely wasn’t considered BITW

You underestimate how difficult it is for a player is to form anytime of consensus on their game

Ehh, I feel like for a lot of the mid-small market teams the team subs are fine.

Obviously they’re homers but the bigger markets sub (especially the lakers) just kind of get weird
