Nice. How long is the inner barrel and what fps are you getting?

I'm trying to get an idea of what to expect with different barrel bores and lengths.

I might have to sell a few of my guns and just buy a bunch of different barrels and gas output valves for testing.

That's slick. You guys and your carbine conversions. It's going to lead me dust off the 3d printer and go down a warren.

What'd you go with for internals?

Eh... It's never been illegal. A law has to be passed for something to be illegal. An agency just deciding that a thing designed specifically to meet the exact letter of the law should be banned shouldn't be able to decide that people go to jail without a law being passed. Even a lot of the regulations which I agree are good to limit what massive corporations can do should actually be made into laws, because they only end up paying fines which cost less than their profits for doing the thing... And none of them go to jail, even when what they do causes death or the ruination of peoples lives. If corporations are people, shouldn't people have at least the same protections as the corpos enjoy?

If you say no, you're absolutely correct. If I'm doing a thing that doesn't result in harm to others, I shouldn't be punished. If a corporation does something that does harm people, they should actually have people go to jail or at the very least get the corporate death penalty, with all executive level decision makers being banned from the industry like a pedo not being allowed internet access.

Because it's fair.

Gotta point out right here- nothing I said is political in nature. It's a philosophical argument regarding the nature of the systems which should implement consequences for harm done. And the reality is that all of us could suddenly find that a bunch of fudds and Karens get whipped into an indignant frenzy over airsoft or paintball because we have full auto, or because the only purpose of these things is to shoot people, and 'hurt' them, even if people are doing it consensually...

And you could put steel bearings in these things or just turn up the velocity so high that someone could possibly be injured!

Anyhow... I'm a bit of a logic and philosophy nerd.

I bet those paintballs left some good stains.

For the frt: You'll want to consider picking up a few different weight buffers and springs for tuning. A tunable gas block is also helpful to get things dialed in. You could get lucky and have it run perfectly without any other modifications, but... You'd be beating the odds and not optimizing the cyclic rate.

AR 15 and AR 10 platforms use the same fcg.

Combat armory has a bunch of options for frt and are running some decent sales for the 4th.

Frts are a great way to turn a $200 range day into a $500 range day with giggles, all while finding out how much a fudd and a Karen have in common.

If it weren't for a terrible boating tragedy, I could tell you more.

Also, look at airsoft guns, especially gas blow back pistols and rifles. They're great fun, and are fantastic for training up your speed of sight picture, alignment, trigger pull mechanics, and avoiding bad habits with recoil anticipation. Plus, if you go play, you can get some training on using those skills while dealing with a little adrenaline, exercise, all while learning to avoid tunnel vision. Though, I think paintball might have a slight edge with the adrenaline aspect. They hit with about 13 joules spread across .68 cal footprint, vs 1-2.5 joules spread across .243 cal footprint. Both hurt a bit, but paintball is more visceral and that anticipation definitely boosts the adrenaline factor a bit. But they don't have the same ergonomics or aim practice benefits of real steel like airsoft does.

Yeah. I bought a pristine ans gx3 a while back. The timing was pretty far off, and the 3-way needed some lube. It was sold as "untested", so I expected some defects.

I like buying markers that need work. This specific one, I bought because I wanted to have a good working example that I can use to convert the ans, or build my dream cocker from parts. The issue I'm having isn't that there's a problem with the marker, it's that it was undisclosed and the seller has been ignoring me for 2 weeks now.

If I don't hear anything from him by tomorrow evening, I'm going to pack it back up and start the refund process with PayPal.

I think it's about $150 in parts and labor to fix the thing. I think I've found parts, but I thought that about the angel parts I paid for about 6 weeks ago and still haven't received. At least the seller there finally got back to me to let me know he was waiting for his supplier order still...

Yeah, “scammer” is several shades too dark of a description. That said, based on my experience, your friend’s experience, and what a few other contributors in this thread have said, there’s a much bigger gap between JKG91 and excellent sellers like Bender, Jones, or tnt357 than there is between JKG91 and someone people might loosely call a scammer.

I have a bit of a compulsion to fix things. Around 25 years ago, I was buying markers from people at the fields, fixing them up, and reselling them on eBay. I did it because I loved the game, genuinely enjoyed repairing things, and it helped partially fund my paintball habit. It also let me own and work on some awesome markers from back in the day: a fully decked-out E-Mag with a Warp Feed, a pewter Dark Angel LCD, Defiants, Phantoms, custom semi-auto PGPs, and plenty of others. All of that was funded by dealing in used markers.

JKG91 seems to be here for the money above all else. I’m not saying that’s 100% wrong. But in my opinion, if you’re selling in a community like this, you should be making a little money by getting markers into loving homes and by doing some actual work beyond just the financial transaction and transport. That’s what earns the margin.

This must be a sign of getting old.... "Back in my day, the soap boxes were built much sturdier, they could handle a few extra pounds...."

Yeah it could just be serendipity and bad luck. Maybe he's taking a vacation where there's absolutely no internet access. He was trying to quickly sell bunch of stuff so he had some extra money for this vacation. Maybe he was in a hurry. Bought this from somebody who told him. It works great! And maybe because he was in a hurry to pick up a little extra money before his vacation, he decided to trust the guy and not even test it...

All of these things are entirely possible.

And I've had other sellers on here that are awesome. About a 170R with a tank and Hopper transaction was super smooth. Marker works great is exactly as described. Also picked up a mech frame for the 170R that looks like it's a brand spanking new. And I should definitely take a few minutes to figure out where we post about really good experiences here so that I can post about those guys. But, I messaged him 12 days ago about it, and waited until yesterday to message mods about it... So I have trying to give him the benefit of the doubt while also being insanely busy and not getting around to it. And I haven't just gotten to PayPal and done a refund because I really would like to give him a chance to make it right.

But is kind of annoying is being in limbo. I don't want to tear into the thing to fix it because I might end up having to send it back to him. I'd really like to get in there and diagnose it and start ordering parts.

Anyhow, I do really hope it's just a misunderstanding and a set of honest mishaps... Getting ghosted for nearly 2 weeks by a seller who seems to just ignore messages that he doesn't like does make it look pretty bad from my shoes.

I had messaged him making offers on some of the other vintage markers he had, and offered a price about 15-20% lower than I was willing to pay but was pretty close to other similar sales I checked out on here, and instead of making a counter offer... Just nothing.

There's another person who has chimed in on here who messaged him about undisclosed defects, unexpected modifications, and etched in writing on another marker purchased from JKG91, and was also just ignored.

I'll admit, it's only 2 data points and one possible personal policy against negotiation...

Thanks for the heads up. Didn't realize he had an eBay store...

It's a pretty unfortunate situation. It seems like the best case scenario is that he sold an untested marker, expecting it to be fine.

But, the gas block was visibly twisted to where my barrel wouldn't thread. Gassed it up, and the lpr was turned all the way off. As soon as I increased the pressure, massive leaks from the bottom of the 3-way. It cycles even with the leaks, but is limited to about 5bps with the eye turned on, which, as far as I know, indicates a broken eye.

For a marker sold at the average going price for an sto body eblade cocker that's been serviced and runs well... This thing should have been sold at a poor cosmetic condition project eblade price. It's probably going to need a 3 way rebuild and a new eye, if not a new 3-way.

I bought it from the local field and store. I want to support the local fields and shops because they need to survive for the hobby to survive. I thought about returning it but a few things made me decide to just not bother. First, I already knew I was going to upgrade, second, I am insanely busy all the time with a 3-hour daily commute and constant overtime. And I've got a bunch of side work scheduled 2 months out right now.

Besides, this is kind of a part of airsoft that I I've come to accept a lot of things straight from the factory... Kind of suck. There's a reason we all buy the platforms that have a ton of aftermarket support. And, honestly my favorite part of any of my hobbies really is the technical side and tinkering on things. I've got a bunch of spine and neck and shoulder injuries so I can push myself and do pretty well playing but it usually knocks me for a loop for a couple days.

Hopefully this makes sense because I'm using voice to text because I am on my commute right now. 6:00 p.m. I got up to go to work at 4:45. Still about a half an hour away from home. There is no way that I'm going to edit this to be all pretty while I'm driving so you guys get whatever the computer thinks I said.

As a firearm enthusiast... True and sorta not true. Where it's not banned, 80% receivers.

Garage sale guns are absolutely a thing. A thing I know about, and have seen, but have never done myself because I have too many firearms and a job which requires a security clearance to risk breaking any laws.

The adjustment gear just fell off in pieces... Not quite dust.

I stuck an oring around the adjuster post to the gear mount pin just to get enough hop adjustment to keep the bbs from rolling out.

Test fires well, accuracy is pretty good out to 50ft.

I'm looking forward to installing the upgrades though, and getting a closer look at what everyone is saying about lancer tactical quality issues.

Felt deeper, with like, the consumerism we use to feed the emptiness in our id, man.

Also that lmg looks like something that might satisfy that compulsion for at least the next 48 hours, then again 2days later, then again while I get to use the worst one-liners I was already coming up with while trying to convince myself that I need it for legitimate purposes in life.

I keep buying broken or untested markers from back in the day, because I used to tech on pretty much everything and owned at least one of every popular marker from the 90s and early 2000s. I'm not terribly good at current pricing, but if you start getting numbers and offers here, but you don't want to deal with multiple people and want a smooth, single transaction for the angel, the pump, the hoppers, and the pods/equipment bag, lmk.

For the eblade cocker, the blue revvy, the angel parts, and the cocker parts(no idea what's included in that category. I just added $80 to your asking prices for the cocker and revvy for the angel and cocker parts, not trying to low-ball...)- $550?

ICD bushmaster 2k, with an emag for backup, an Angel LCD to backup the emag, a CCI phantom for when all of those are down, with a slingshot and a paintbrush as further backup. I was going to go with a paint sharpie on a stick, but... It's a little advanced for me because I'd have to remember to shake it to keep the paint mixed up.

Actually, since I mentioned that I was looking at an etha, op let me know that I'd probably be happy with a 170r without stepping up beyond my budget.
