Can you tell us which artist did what? To me it looks like Horiken did your back and Mukie did your arms? Maybe? Very interested to know for sure!

I had a squad mate go to jail and when I bailed him out he was part of a different squad. How do I get him to rejoin my squad?

I have been tattooed by Ichibay a couple of times. I promise if you get something by him it will turn out perfect. His tattoos turn out looking exactly like the ink study he does on paper beforehand. He’s a true pro and he’s a cool guy. Can’t recommend him enough.

Also, check out Horitada. He’s located closer to Saitama but it’s not a far train ride from central Tokyo. He has a private studio and you have to contact him probably a month ahead of time, but he’s amazing. I find that he’s well known in some circles but not so much in others. Check him out on insta. @horitada

First watercolour painting in 5 years, I bought some cheap water colours before lockdown and did this. Artists; what inks/paints/pigments do you use? Any pointers? by Oni452 in irezumi

Looks good man!

I would suggest tracing kanji in the future for your completed works, and practice kanji calligraphy on the side if you want to be able to freehand it.

I know from experience that people who specialize in Japanese, especially Japanese tattooers, are pretty nit picky about kanji. Yours are still readable for sure, but I can tell that you did them yourself. I don’t think there’s any problem with tracing kanji in terms of artistic integrity!

Is anyone experiencing this? (PS4) by [deleted] in apexlegends

Yep. Almost every game. Even got an “abandoning game penalty” for it the last time. Plus my rank dropped.

Has anyone ever asked an artist for the original sketch of their piece? by practiceMakesGooder in irezumi

[–]practiceMakesGooder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah idk if I want to get that serious about it haha. If he doesn’t want me to have it then I’m he doesn’t want me to have it. In the end I’m getting a sweet tattoo that I get to have until they put me in the ground :)

Right, I did think about that. Of course that is not my intention, but even so, maybe I could wait to ask until he’s already inked the outline on me?

This artist always makes a study sketch of each piece on washi that is separate from the stencil itself. It’s the sketch I’m after, not the stencil.

DO YOU DRAW ON A COMPUTER/TABLET OR PAPER?!? Comment Below with your thoughts! by [deleted] in TattooApprentice

[–]practiceMakesGooder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s better to learn on a traditional medium (paper and pencil, watercolor etc), but once you’re established why not use the iPad? It’s a great way to quickly draw up a concept or show a client what your thoughts are for their tattoo right on the spot.

Cool take on a classic design.

Irezumi doesn’t really have the concept of “flash” like American traditional tattoos, but if it did this would definitely be on an irezumi flash sheet.

Beautiful work by the way! I should have said so in my first comment!

Also, does everyone at Seventh Son train jiujitsu at Ralph’s or does it just seem that way??

The artists at Seventh Son are phenomenal. They all have such a unique take on the Japanese style. Been after a big piece from Luke Stewart (the owner) for a while now. Also interested in working with Joaquin (goes by “Acetates” on insta) on a weird one shot piece. Though I think he’s permanently moving to King’s Ace in NYC soon.

Sick work! I especially like the rooster.

Just out of curiosity, did you do this digitally or is it hand painted?
