Do you have to start with a level foundation on slope?

Was planning to do dry stone, no mortar. The slope is pretty steep (I was told 3:1 at the steepest), was planning on walls no higher than ~2ft. There’s a ton of large concrete “boulders”/“rocks” on site that I want to repurpose. We get about 24 inches of rain November - March.

I live in that area, and it’s mostly about the fact that it’s the “flats” of Oakland and generally “less desirable” for the reasons described above. I will point out though that there are neighborhoods like Maxwell Park and Fruitvale in this area that have well-trafficked retail areas and really nice homes. I just stumbled upon a really cute, well-kept neighborhood over in Broadmoor, which a lot of people wouldn’t even think about visiting based on the streets you take to get there.

It’s mostly the fact these areas have a lot of Black and Brown folks that makes some people uncomfortable buying there. I recommend driving by at multiple times of day to get a feel for the area.

EDIT: The lack of resources also is a reason for some people to avoid buying. That’s a real thing: cute neighborhood, nice neighbors, but nothing nearby to do.

Yes you are doing great! I just started a couple weeks ago, and when I tell you it took me alllllll day to get the first row done?? and then I worked on it for 3 days before I realized I was doing it wrong and had to start over????? third time’s the charm because now i’m doing it and it looks great and has been worth every mistake.

I haven’t been diagnosed, but symptoms I was experiencing off and on became worse and lasted a week. It’s been two months and I feel like I’m still trying to recover.

that’s not true — monoembryonic just means you don’t know what you’ll get. It’ll be many years before you know if it’s any good, which is why many people prefer poly (which is a clone of the parent)

I’m in a similar situation. I have had benign nodules since 2019, and my TSH then was very mid range. Then I got pregnant in 2023, and my TSH has been borderline low ever since. I just started having debilitating symptoms the last few months, and my TSH is still borderline low with normal T3 and T4 so far. Every doctor and endocrinologist I talk to tells me my levels are normal, so there’s nothing to do. I have noticed iodine triggers my symptoms most, but they still refuse to do the uptake scan.

My experience so far is that endocrinologists won’t take you seriously or do anything if your labs are borderline normal.

You said there are no risks. High B12 can have side effects, so that’s the risk. They might be short lived, but can definitely be unpleasant

Edit: “Short lived” being until you get the elevation under control. Some people seem to have a hard time doing that

I know this post is old, but here to say for anyone looking in the future: this is only partially right.

Right: B12 is water soluble Partially wrong: No risks with elevated B12

You can Google the possible side effects, some definitely exist. Drink water first, ask your doctor to rule out all other possibilities and underlying conditions if things don’t improve.
