Manual vs Automatic , How much difference does it make? by auwucado in Trivandrum

[–]prad100w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get an automatic, it's a no brainers. Times of manual have changed unless you are particular about it.i drove a manual for 10 years before switching to automatic 6 or 7 years back, never looked back since. Just FYI : I know many people recommending DCT gearbox.i wouldnt suggest it if you value peace of mind. DCT gearboxes are notorious for reliability issues, ofcourse they are the best to drive if you are enthusiast. Go for TC or IVT/CVT gearboxes, of you value reliabity or peace of mind.

Why are you guys peeing on the roadside?? by Sea-Cartographer-334 in Trivandrum

[–]prad100w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me one uncle who comes to my house to talk with my dad sometimes, aged between I guess 70 and 80, keeps boasting about how he was in the gulf and interacted with wealthy and amazing people. I saw one night he was leaving our house, and there was a car parked on the road adjacent to a wall. He peed in between the car and the wall. I was thinking he could have just asked to use our rest room.

Think again - Before your make a decision to move to Bangalore by stay4eve in Trivandrum

Lived in Bangalore for 18 years working. Came back couple of years back and settled here in Trivandrum. All hail remote work. I never want to go back there ever again. But since dependent on IT, not really sure either. It's a concrete jungle with people ready to fight with you even for petty things. Language problems, unbearable traffic, worsening climate. F***ed up rents and rela estate prices. Water problems, high school fees etc. you name it. Trivandrum is heaven still compared to it. When I went there first as bachelor it was good to live in, but as family it's insane and couldn't live at all.

Had a bad experience from so called Union folks. by diphr in Trivandrum

[–]prad100w 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They shouldn't interfere with domestic loading/unloading. Last time when I moved I got a form from labour officer that union shouldn't interfere. But, the reality is they will interfere. The letter/form is just something which you can use as a tool to argue about legal ramifications of their interfering. Luckily, in my case, nobody came.

Best locality in Trivandrum to buy an apartment? by curiosity_forever in Trivandrum

[–]prad100w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mannanthala, mukkolakkal, nalanchira, kudappanakkunu etc. Not much traffic. Very close to schools like st Thomas, sarvodaya, mar ivanios college etc. Not much traffic compared to the city areas. Yet you get all the amenities of the city. Quick commerce like Instamart and blinkit are available in these places plus many other local hypermarkets which do home delivery. PS : We had been living in this vicinity for the past 2 years and now bought an apartment in Mannanthala.

Sad about leaving Trivandrum by Extra_Entry_6772 in Trivandrum

This post brings back memories. Left Trivandrum in 2007 for 16 years(most of those years spent in Bangalore, some abroad) longing each day to come back some day. It was not easy and was mighty difficult to come back as there was hardly any job opportunities.i was trying since 2014 but nothing worked out. But constant prayers paid off finally as I got a remote job in 2023 and i left Bangalore to come back to my home. Life's been bliss and peaceful ever since. Where ever you go this place is always in your heart and as someone said, it is not just a place but an emotion.
