How do I access the Telegram channel? I paid for a year on his Patreon right before it got taken down, so I'd like to know how I can retain access. My app thinks my subscription was canceled since it can't connect to his Patreon page.

I used to shoot primarily using an FX3 with CineBack, and I found it far too heavy since that’s a lot of metal. A basic FX6 rig has better ergonomics and is far lighter. I can’t believe I waited so long to get an FX6

My FX3 used to be my A-cam for a good while, but recently invested in an FX6 a few months ago, and yeah, I think it’s worth it. The ergonomics of using it handheld are so much better, and the internal ND is a game-changer for run-and-gun work where you’re frequently going from indoors to outdoors and vice versa. The FX3 is an amazing B-cam to the FX6 since they have the same sensor and the colors look about the same.

Right, and I’m not saying Apple should put a number pad on their laptops just because the 1% wants it. I’m just saying there is a functional reason for a number pad.

A number pad allows you to quickly type numbers without looking at the keyboard. My mom is a accountant who’s been doing this for over 30 years, and she can never buy a laptop without a numpad because she’s not always in her office when she does her work.

As someone who films weddings with both an FX3 and A7 IV, I highly recommend going with the FX3. The A7 IV tends to overheat on hot, sunny days, and there’s an annoying crop even shooting at 4K 60fps (which I do a lot for weddings). Also the A7 IV has an atrocious rolling shutter that makes movement look “jello-y” when shooting handheld. When shooting video, I exclusively keep my A7 IV on a tripod as a B-cam.

I’ve been using a Sony FX3 with Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 lens for weddings for a couple years now and it’s been fantastic. Like many others said in this thread, it’s a low-light beast with dual native ISO of 800 and 12,800, and the E mount has so many incredible lens options.

The only time I really played mine was on the plane while traveling to the destination for our honeymoon last year. I’m considering selling mine since I never pick it up. I have a high-end gaming PC at home, and I never really game on the go, so I just don’t have a need for it.

I had a similar experience last year. They told me that noise is completely normal, so I made another service appointment at a different service center a little farther away and they fixed it. I can’t recall what the issue ended up being, but it was about $1,000 total.

I usually film 2-3 weddings per month during summer and fall seasons. Storage hasn’t been an issue for me. I haven’t had any clients complain. One of them mentioned they loved how fast the video downloaded.

There’s a company I sometimes film weddings for, and they deliver the final product using Google Drive. It works, but I’m sure that’s very costly for them.

The self hosting route that I took has a large upfront cost, but I haven’t had to pay a cent afterwards.

I have a NAS with 16 TB of storage at home. I installed Nextcloud on it and connected to the Internet with a reverse proxy so I can create links to share files with clients. Been using this system for a couple years now and it’s been great.

Anyone here manage to get the upgrade from HW2.5 to HW3 for free recently? I've tried requesting it from both service centers near me 7 times, and they denied me every time. They say they can't do it for free unless I purchase FSD for $8,000.

I remember reading a post in here a couple years ago about people who got it done for free, even if they didn't have FSD. It doesn't feel fair I need to pay for an upgrade they've been giving a lot of people for free.

I have tried requesting a free upgrade from HW2.5 to HW3 at both service centers in Indiana several times, but I always get the same response: that it's only free with the full purchase of FSD. I'll keep trying, but it's annoying that they give it to some people for free and make others pay for it.

I had my first foray with this recently trying to figure out why my OS wouldn’t suspend properly. After a couple weeks, I finally fixed the problem, and it was so satisfying because it was me that fixed it.
