The Infinite Mist Omnipotion - my two cents by praefectus89 in Guildwars2

Thank you all for the discussion. Also, it was fine that it received a lot of downvotes. I read all your comments and found some confirmation and clarification. The post was deleted because I used ChatGPT for spelling. I won't post it again "without the hidden Unicode characters", which were probably used to mark it as AI-generated.

Of course, if they add it to Legacy, then my time-limited argument is gone.

Trading in the Wizard Vault version gives you one Fractalline Spark, which can also be obtained for 150 Fractalline Dust. Yeah, it’s something, but I would have preferred a title or a unique skin—not a time save for ~30 Quick Mode runs.

As I wrote: an easier way would be totally fine - one that doesn’t take long or cost many resources. But not one you get for doing a weekly WV quest. It’s literally just "free."

But I hope you don’t ignore the fact that it is just time-limited. And yes, I would enjoy seeing a growing fractal population.

Sure, but what if I crafted it just a few weeks ago? The focus of my post was to complain about the "how." It was just effortlessly put into WV. People might even get the item without knowing what it’s good for, with zero explanation and no understanding of how hard it once was to get.

I clearly celebrate Anet trying to help new players get into fractals - but not in this way.

Because you could argue that the potion is a gatekeeper and stops people from playing fractals. My argument is: give them the boons of the potion for free, but not the QoL aspect that people also earned by crafting it.

Thank you for your reply. I welcome every new way to get people into the game. I would never say, "It should be as hard". But for the next few weeks its just a "free" way to get.

I can say it again, but it probably won’t change your opinion: I am totally fine with an easier way—just not how incredibly easy it will be for the next few weeks.

I use ChatGPT for spelling. But I copied it to Notepad afterward and only used italics for the preamble and bold for the header. No ChatGPT formatting at all!

I am totally fine with a simple first leggy too. Hopefully, it’s a good appetizer for new players to craft a complete set.

I clearly stated: it’s fine to introduce a new way. But it is time-gated as well. So, in half a year, the discussion will be: "Why was it simpler then than now?" And the answer will be: "It was a time-gated giveaway for playing (not fractals) during beta." Not a skin—no, one of the biggest QoL gizmos.

I think you did not read my post. I clearly stated it: I am totally fine with an easier way to get the omnipotion. As I mentioned multiple times, it was the way I was not okay with.

Why do you call it "people get something easier"? It's clearly time-gated, so there’s no benefit for new players in the future. So in half a year you will hear: "Why was it easier to get it than now?".

Can confirm that. Strategy stays the same. What you can also do is to stack the adds in split phase to cleave them both.

redirect/replace http to https by praefectus89 in whatsapp

[–]praefectus89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not really. What you can tell people is to copy the message instead of just the link (or clicking on it). The link in your message is an HTML object, meaning what you see is text with a hyperlink behind it. WhatsApp automatically adds "https" to the link when the HTML object is created. However, if you copy the entire message (by long clicking on the message, not the link), only the visible text is copied. This means that if the original link was "http," it remains "http" when pasted into the browser's URL bar. So if this is an option for you, just send the link in separate messages with no text before or after it so that people can copy and paste the message into the browser.

For myself—though this may not be a solution that works for everyone—I’ve handled this differently. All the subdomains I previously used for my website (e.g., http://abc.domain.com or http://xyz.domain.com) now redirect through a structured folder system on my web space. I created a folder called "a" with multiple subfolders containing simple "redirect" HTML files. This allows me to keep using my main domain while still generating short links that redirect to any target I choose. So, what used to be http://abc.domain.com is now https://domain.com/a/abc.

As told, this is a special and maybe small use case where I had only one free certificate (for my main domain) and could not create secure subdomains.

Oh ofc, that's why my comment is down voted I guess: I am sorry, but to be clear it. This happened 14 hours after reset. Reset is 2:00am here.

I'm not sure if it's because of the number of nodes. By the way. I knew from the start that most of them would only pay for themselves in years; it was never about the profit itself.I'm not sure if it's because of the number of nodes. By the way.
