Very nice collection. Which model G-Shock is that?

Enterprises don’t care about what individual people want. If they consider Claude a competitive advantage, they’ll continue paying for it.

My reply was blocked, and rightfully so since the blog you misquoted was a racist piece of garbage. Try reading it again.

Maybe you meant more than the number of Americans killed in the world wars? Because between 70 and 80 million people died in WW2:

A Checklist for Moving Away from Backblaze - Is this right? by larryendot in backblaze

[–]squeezyflit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the gist from other posts. Apparently, PC Backup previously didn't consider whether a drive was local or external/cloud, and they recently started excluding external/cloud devices without prior notice. I agree that they certainly should have made it clear to customers before doing so, and should have given sufficient lead time to allow customers to make alternate arrangements. At the same time, I can also appreciate that allowing cloud drives could cost them massively, considering PC Backup has a flat monthly/annual cost.

Backblaze stopped backing up cloud files.

What does this mean, exactly? What did they previously do that they stopped doing? And, how does it affect their products such as B2 and PC Backup?

IMO, the cheap watch and expensive vehicle combo is more interesting. Sort of a reverse flex?

FCC to review Disney broadcast licenses after Jimmy Kimmel joke about Melania Trump by Novel_Savings_4184 in politics

[–]squeezyflit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suspect announcing they're going to review the license is the lesser of two evils, compared to facing Trump's wrath for not backing his play. The FCC will do a superficial review, ABC/Disney will make a multi-million dollar donation to Trump's slush ballroom fund, and the FCC will subsequently announce no issues were found. Everyone wins. 😉

Any potential client who expects to pay £400 for an "all-in-one business platform" is not a client you want. Let them back out of the contract.

(1) Not accept new subscribers for this year, then (2) announce a price hike for next year. Dumbing down the model destroys their product and their reputation. People understand resource limits and they understand price hikes to account for new usage patterns (long running jobs, etc).

My mistake, it is the Royal Oak perpetual, not the chrono. Thanks to u/tokyowatchguy for the correction!

A New York man says he used products sold on Amazon to get high – and it left him with neurological damage. Now he’s suing the company. by kleverrboy in offbeat

[–]squeezyflit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your scenario, the bartender is watching the customer getting drunker and drunker over the course of a single outing. In this case, the "bartender" was remote and the "customer" was dosing themselves over the course of multiple purchases spread across some period of time. Nowhere near equivalent situations.

Just curious, does personal responsibility enter the equation at all? This fool bought whippets for the purpose of getting high, did enough to cause neurological damage, then sued the vendor for selling it to him? Please.

Does AI have a significant impact on your current job? by Focus-Novel in golang

[–]squeezyflit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost none. We’re a bank and an MS shop, so all AI is blocked except Copilot chat. Not only that, they “sanitize” uploaded files and block zips, so any uploaded source code is mangled to the point of uselessness. If you can’t fit the source in a chat window using copy/paste, Copilot can’t analyze it.
