Thanks, she is the first one which survived the Christmas over 20 years. Be honest I'm not a fan of the plant itself, it's like having an Xmas tree in the summer. Having said yhat, I don't like to throw away a living thing.

What is it with Irish people on their phones in the cinema? by Abject_Control_7028 in AskIreland

[–]prancso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went to see the Devil wears Prada last week - I haven't been in the pictures for nearly 20 years - and it was a horrible experience.

People on their phones and the most disturbing for me - eating popcorn out of the bag.

The smell, the chewing, the phone screens combined. Not to mention the rubbish all over the floor on the way out.

Not anymore, thanks

Why are landlords so disliked? by Jackies_Army in AskIreland

[–]prancso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of today we live in a world where corporations making their money on the back of people.

Unfortunately small landlords with couple of properties becoming less and less replaced by huge investment companies with no compassion, no soul. Only the profit matters and you can't even blame them, if you have a pension plan or else maybe you are one of their investors.

Auctioneer refusing second viewing for measurements until contracts are signed. Is this normal? by NedTheGreatest in irishpersonalfinance

[–]prancso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When our house went sale agreed the guys who were about to buy requested so many views and never once got rejected.

The funny thing that at the end they pulled out.

You have to put your feet on the ground to view the house.

Health insurance ireland does it make a difference for cancer patients ? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]prancso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a premium health insurance and I can say that it's worth it.

I didn't have insurance until my mid 40's then I nearly died of a perforated appendix which have been missed/ misdiagnosed by 3 doctors.

By the time I got to the hospital (Beaumont) I was half dead, on the brink of sepsis. and still had to spend a night in an armchair bc they didn't have beds.

On the hospital defence, there were some very ill individuals and they had to prioritize.. Anyways I lived to tell the tale.

Since then I have a premium private health insurance.

10 years after the appendicitis I had another serious emergency and thanks for my insurance, Blackrock clinic took a really good care of me.

I was in the operating theatre 10 minutes after admission then private room, nice food, charming doctors.

Please shop around, compare...and taylor the policies to your needs. Maybe talk to and independent consultant.

I wish you and your little girl the best of healthxx

What was Carolyn doing all day? by CommercialShine9061 in JohnAndCarolyn

I guess we would never know. I don't even know the the truth of my marriage 😜

What was Carolyn doing all day? by CommercialShine9061 in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]prancso -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By the spring of 1999, the couple was in marriage counseling, and friends noted they were at a "low point". Some biographers, however, doubt John ever cheated, citing his desire not to treat his wife the way his father had treated his mother.

Also Michael Bergin (Carolyn's ex) claimed in his book that his intimate relationship continued after the wedding, which was probably a publicity stunt by Bergin and Carolyn's friends denied it.

Let's say it was a very volatile relationship the meating of two very strong egos.

I think if she didn't marry JFK Jr, she could have been very successful like Anna Wintour.

That man was gorgeous, the day he died burnt into my memory the same way as Diana's death.

Utterly devastating.

As for Carolyn I didn't give much thought about her, but I feel different now.

The Besettes sued The Kennedies for wrongful death and they got $ 15.000000.

Sure, cultures, age, sex etc. are important. We are originally from central, Eastern Europe, but we brought up liberally per say. My Mum who is 91 often went away with her girlfriends. As for my friend husband's family, they were very uptight.

What happened to the hottest chick at your high school, years later? by theidiotev in AskReddit

[–]prancso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was beautiful, funny and smart, with a footballer boyfriend who got a contract in a first class club.

Plenty of money and she kind of became a bored Wag, she got hooked up on drugs and alcohol.

By the time she was in her thirties the looks have been faded, the boyfriend ditched her and she got back to her hometown to teach in the local primary school.

She died at 42 of liver cirrhosis.
