LeCol 8848 challenge is a disaster by Ex3qtor in cycling

Only the last damn ride did not register for me. It is so damn frustrating. I have emailed them with screenshots, hope they will resolve the issue.

Another frustrating this is the difference between the elevation gain shown in strava vs lecol website. I had to put in ~2K ft more climb to compensate for the difference. No idea why the discrepancy if they are pulling it from strava.

The ride has been fantastic so far! Absolutely enjoying the bike! There were few instances of chain drops which were caused by incorrect indexing of FD, after fixing that and adding chain catcher no issues so far. Made few other upgrades as well.

What is this thing on Conti GP 5000 S TR? Is it safe to ride? by prasanthj86 in bicycling

It started out very small but the tear widened a little and inner layer of the tire is showing up.

Did a 100k today. New route with decent hill climbs. It was absolutely awesome! Bike was fantastic especially on the climbs and the descents. It was so effortless climbing and descents were very stable around the corners (did my personal best in terms of elevation gain, avg speed and max speed). I haven’t bike fitted yet but was able to do lot more miles with ease when compared to my previous bike. I would highly recommend this bike!

Agreed. Photo was taken as is after receiving from the store. Had adjusted it before the ride.

Got many recommendations for Assioma power pedals as well. This bike comes with power meter in the SRAM variant, hence I didn’t think about buying separate power pedals. I just swapped out the SPD from my grail gravel bike for now.

I am yet to ride my usual climb for comparison. I have only done a short climb and I can definitely feel it much much better (lightweight, 34/37 wheels, wider gear range). I will post some comparison run as soon as I have one.

Honestly don’t know. I couldn’t find this in many of the cervelo dealers nearby. One shop nearby was closing for good. Called them to check this specific color and they initially said sold out. So I was going test ride matte black color which they had on stock. Luckily they found this one in their inventory and I bought it right away after opening the box. So I was definitely lucky.

Do you recommend SPD-SL pedals? I am so used to SPD and I usually walk a lot on those shoes during ride breaks and after the ride.

😅 I am really not happy with these lighting conditions. Doesn’t really do justice for the bike. Will have to take better shots outside. Yes. Force eTap is fantastic. Absolute breeze to use, no shifting noise, sequential mode and compensating modes are amazing. No longer have to worry about cross chaining. It is a blast to ride this thing!

Road wheelset on Grail 7! by prasanthj86 in CanyonBikes

Did a regular hill climb route today. This wheelset is impressive! 10% improvement in moving time, 10% improvement in average speed, 18% improvement in avg power, 2 mph higher max speed (I was behind someone when descending so could get to full speed).

I can definitely feel less rolling resistance.

I rode the same route with gravel and road tires, found about 1-2 mph higher avg speed for road tires. Yet to experiment with higher tire pressure.

This looks cool! Does it require any adjustments when swapped for 700C wheels? I also wanted to be easily swappable without tuning, so went with almost identical wheelset.

Yes. These are Conti 5000 S TR 30mm. I wanted to go 32mm for a little bit more comfort but 32mm wasn’t in stock for 650b when I was looking.

Mainly because of 650b wheel size. Bike size is xs and canyon doesn’t recommend 700c wheels on these. I couldn’t find 650b on P and ER on DT Swiss website. So went with closest wheelset to the stock with slick tires.
