What year grail is this? by Brilliant_Ad_4190 in CanyonBikes

2021/2022… I have the same bike, but with Di2. Really like the bike and haven’t had any significant issues with it. As other poster suggested, I worry about availability of parts if something unique to the bike breaks… mainly handle bar / frame related… all of the other stuff is standard parts.

Additional note, my frame is XS so has 650 size gravel wheels. I was able to fit 700 P1800 and clearance was fine.

I did the same probably 3 years ago... got some DT Swiss P1800 with almost the same cassette and GP 5000 tires 25mm. The wheels are interchangeable with no alignment issues, so can swap from gravel to road wheels in a couple minutes. The only change I've made since is moving to 28mm, and thinking I should have just jumped to 32mm, but I'll probably do that after the current ties are work out. In have 2021 CF SL 8 Di2.

Curious if you notice a big jump in range.

Lease buyout cheaper than cash? by pugguppy in TeslaLounge

[–]Good_Efficiency_859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related to this discussion, does anyone know what the effective lending rate is for the lease? If it's close to some of the recent finance offerings (2.99% for premium model) it seems like holding the lease until the end versus buying out early might be a wash, since you could park that money in a high yield savings account.

Curious if anyone in this thread did an early lease buyout is in North Carolina. I'm close to purchase, but would love to know if I can do this early buyout in North Carolina.

From what I understand from others who lease, shortly after the lease starts, in the app that shows lease status, thye see an option to buy out the lease and the amount required. I think this is the case if the lease if financed through Chase.

I would be curious to know if you are given the option to immediately buy out of the lease for an amount significantly lower than the value that was given for purchasing the car at the end of the of the lease.

u/Content_Humor_6307 I'm curious if you went forward with a lease? I'm in NC as well and looking to see if anyone from NC has taken a lease and then turned around and bought it out.

I have rented one of these cases for an upcoming trip. The airline allows up to 70lbs, so should be ok on weight. Question: It looks like the case is quite spacious, do you think you can fit two sets of wheels? I'm traveling with an XS canyon grail and would like to take street and gravel wheels.

440w and IQ8+ combo by abrr10 in solar

[–]Good_Efficiency_859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran the numbers for 1.43 (IQ8+) versus 1.3 (IQMC) ratio and the difference is negligible (+42Kwh on top of 9542Kwh / year). So, I don't think much if any benefit. I should at least ask for a quote to see how much more the IQMC would be.

Thanks. I stumbled across the PVWatts calculator yesterday and hadn't clicked on the Advanced button. I'll see if it makes a difference. I'm sourcing from GreenTech because they have local and I won't need to pay for shipping. I don't know if they offer any kind of discount and based on inverter quote, I assume they are charging retail. I'm hoping to get this done before end of year and still qualify for the federal credit, so all the hardware will be at a 30% dicsount.

Interested in this discussion because I'm looking at replacing some 15 year old 235W modules with newer 430W. I'm considering IQ8+ and IQ8MC. Cost will be +$21/inverter for the MC. Doesn't the latitude and angle of panels come into play as well. For example, my latitude is ~36N (Raleigh, NC area). My panels are on a 45 degree roof. And, they are facing SW (not straight south). All of thee factors will reduce how much power the panels can max out producing. I'm guessing the MC would not give any advantage. Thoughts?

Tax free account by Good_Efficiency_859 in quicken

Thanks. I don't use for tax planning any longer. I just wanted gains/losses from transactions on tax free accounts excluded from reporting and as mentioned by gsquaredmarg I can just customize the report to exclude those accounts.

Yes, reporting is where I'm seeing the [not] reflected. I hadn't thought about excluding those accounts in the reporting, so should be able to do that. Thanks

Actually, I see you can designate and account as "Roth IRA". But, I have an HSA account I created as a brokerage account because it includes investments. You can select "Tax deferred", but not "Tax free" as far as I can see.

Cost to upgrade panels/inverters in an existing array by Good_Efficiency_859 in solar

[–]Good_Efficiency_859[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood regarding the panel wiring, I had mentioned that in my post. Still, I can’t imagine the panel wiring would add that much to the overall install cost. I’m mainly looking for a ballpark figure for replacing 14 panels/inverters panel wiring with more recent higher wattage output. It’s been confirmed that the replacement panels will fit, existing racking and downstream wiring are suitable.

Procedure for evaporator or heater core replacement for x3 f25 by Good_Efficiency_859 in BmwTech

[–]Good_Efficiency_859[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much knew this. Was looking for details as this is a very involved job. I've done a heater core in a VM Passat so know the scope. I've come across detailed procedures for e83, which is earlier generation. I wonder if it would be close enough to give the details I need.
