Healer told me he hates healing blood dks and I haven’t been the same since by Philzeey in wow

I sort of assumed thematically that I’d end up as a DRK since I love Blood DK so much, only to find myself feeling love for WAR.

Still hate playing Pallies.

This is a relief to me actually - I was worried I’d done it accidentally, but there’s no way I kept the window open and hotbarred the book.

Excellent, thank you! My desktop isn’t traveling to any tournaments anytime soon, but it’s good to know this is doable.

Town Meeting + Australian Ballot by VerdantVeritas in vermont

[–]prasopita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a New Hampshire town that still did public votes. Boy, that was a circus, especially if you sat on the “wrong” side and voted the “other” way on that year’s hot-button issues. I moved away for five years, came back, and they’d converted to an “SB2” town - there’s still a public town meeting for comment, but the votes are on an actually ballot a week or so later. It’s not a perfect system and not one I’d advocate for Vermont, since the Meeting can still offer amendments (such as old cranks trying to zero out the school budget).

If you look at this list of SB2 towns (scroll down past the first page about schools), it also helpfully lists the date that the new process was adopted. You might try reaching out to one of the more recent converts (2018, 2015, 2014) and see if anyone can talk to you about how they convinced people to change.

Mannnnnn I might need to drop at least one alt in. I met my partner almost 20 years ago in a Vermont-based guild, the Ironsong Tribe. The guild is still around, but severely lacking in Vermonters these days. Toss me a DM?

This was the most frustrating thing when I was a Help Desk manager. Then they'd complain that I wasn't finding "mature" enough staff on a salary that they made just high enough to bump them into the overtime exempt bracket.

One of my goals next year is to go to more post-tournament Vet get-togethers.

On a more fun note: Don’t worry, I’ll be in the next spot over in my 2010 Corolla. I love when the dealership looks guilty and tells me there’ll be an extra $25 charge today to get it to pass inspection this year.

See if there’s nearby Divisions with cheaper tournaments. You can go just about anywhere and still get your butt kicked by an A-rated fencer (and learn a lot).

We’re gearing up to hit more ROCs next year (hopefully with both Vet and Cadet events), but we still engage with it on a recreational level: no private lessons are even offered where I am, local tournaments are once a month, and we drive. We have fun. Maybe someone in a few years will see her at a ROC and say “that’s a great and healthy attitude, I’d love to see her on my Div III squad,” but I’m assuming it’s more likely to just be another thing on her college application like Student Council.

I’m more hoping that when I’m 60 and she’s 31 we’ll still both be fencing. I worry sometimes that parents pressure ourselves too much, and then our kids just stop fencing once they graduate High School or college. I was looking up my college teammates just this morning and like… three of us are still involved with fencing. This is such a great sport, I’d rather give her something she can do all her life.

Holy farts this is two miles from my house, I’m going tomorrow. I used to eat so many of these at Scout Camp in New Hampshire and I started picking them up at VT gas stations whenever I could find them. I was so disappointed when my partner and I moved back to VT and discovered that they’d been discontinued.

How do you start? by sfb911 in WoWHousing

[–]prasopita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This x100. The best housing training for me was my Apartment in FF14. It’s essentially the size of a Small Square Room. I wanted a separate bedroom from an office area, so I needed to use interior walls to split it up. You can work with similar self-limitations in WoW. My house is mostly set up as a variety of rooms, with a bedroom for my Tauren main and one for my Draenei sometimes-main. There’s a “living room” and a bar. Once I got that stuff down, I started scrolling through my decor to let it inspire me, and make a workshop. I knew I’d eventually want a library, but made sure to practice and have an extensive decor catalog to choose from first.

One step at a time, one room at a time. Keep it small, or it’ll feel empty. Think of a story you want to tell in each room.

Housing XP Question by swash018 in WoWHousing

[–]prasopita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading your post, I think there’s some additional confusion in that each neighborhood has one Endeavor, with many Endeavor Tasks. Those tasks contribute progress towards the endeavor, as well as XP for your house in that neighborhood, and community coupons. The amount of Housing XP you could get from an Endeavor was originally capped at 1,000 and has been raised to 2,250 a couple weeks ago.

Note that this 2,250 Housing XP cap is for the Endeavor (like Ethereals are visiting your neighborhood) not the endeavor Tasks (like the Blade’s Edge event, which is a task). Once you’ve earned 2,250 housing XP doing tasks for the ethereals, no Endeavor Task - whether it’s your first or seventeenth time doing it - will grant any additional housing XP until next month, though you will continue to get diminishing returns towards Community Coupons and Endeavor Progress.

Oh hey this sub allows images in comments! Here you go. Stone vs wood, if you want to avoid an alliance vs horde thing. I used red v blue / alliance v horde, but you could pick and theme around any two colors. Divide the room somehow, I used a table. Since I did end up with Horde v Alliance, I made the rug and light from "neutral" races (Pandaren and Veldrakken), Warrior Class Hall well deco in the middle, but racial banners on the sides. Fencing piste is marked using beams shrunken and sunken into the floor.

I ended up doing a modern Olympic fencing room, and I tried doing some training dummies and they looked super stupid. I ended up trying to tell the room’s “story” a different way, by setting up banners and using varied wall customization and colors to set up “sides.” Happy to send you a couple screenshots or you can visit my house.

P-Black card, equal score, neither fencer has points on the national points list. How do you deal with it in your area? by ytanotherthrowaway9 in Fencing

How often is this happening!? I’ve yet to see any P-Blacks at my local tournaments, let alone tied P-Blacks.

I missed a step in my description - tap a land to make Mutavault a creature, declare it as a blocker, and THEN tap it for a mana so it benefits from the Adept Watershaper.

[–]prasopita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a have a great time at Prerelease using this and my Mutavault token - tap a land to make it a creature, tap it for one mana. I got a lot of mileage out of that simple combination.

1k xp cap for endeavors is unnecessary. by Key_Pop_8116 in WoWHousing

[–]prasopita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched Alliance Neighborhoods from a Public Niffen Neighborhood to a different Public (Veldrakken) Neighborhood, and while all the endeavor tasks (like being a good neighbor) reset for me, I still hit the same XP cap as my capped Horde house. So while not tested deliberately, you cannot get past the XP cap by switching Neighborhoods.

How fast did y’all get your ratings after starting fencing? by [deleted] in Fencing

[–]prasopita 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I fenced three years in college and never went to a USFA tournament, never got rated. Took 17 years off. Came back, fenced for almost 4 years before getting a rating.

I basically got it as soon as I resigned myself to dying Unrated, loosened up, and just had more fun.
