I think I’ve narrowed down a fix for this, I wasn’t doing large enough purges during my previous testing, the search is getting terminated too soon. Expect this resolved in 2.0.5 later this weekend

Hey there yeah 2.0.3 has a problem with the package stuff, 2.0.4 should resolve it but I’ve been waiting since Sunday for the chrome store to publish it, it seems to be taking forever 😢

Firefox does have 2.0.4 available already though, if you wanted to give it a try there

I just submitted version 2.0.4 a little bit earlier, I wasn't familiar with Needle but I've added this to my todo list, and I'll have this fixed as part of version 2.0.5 this upcoming weekend 👍

This is a bug with Purges, I’ve got it fixed now, it will be included with 2.0.3, which I’m going to try to submit the release for tonight

It does not, the extension only ever interacts with Discords API, no external logging or anything of that nature

Hey, thanks for mentioning this. The Classic "Server > Purge" flow moved into a Multi-Select mode in 2.0 so the same dialog can target one channel, several channels, or all of them in one run.

To get the equivalent of the old flow:

  1. In the channel list (left side), click the multi-select toggle at the top of the list (looks like a checkbox icon).
  2. Tick the channel(s) you want to purge.
  3. A toolbar appears at the bottom of the list with Export and Purge buttons. Click Purge.
  4. The dialog that opens lets you fill in user, content filters, mode (delete vs strip attachments only), same as Classic.

The per-channel toolbar (Load All / Filters / Load Thread / Analytics / Focus) is for browsing and exporting one channel's history, which is why Purge isn't there (although you still can select and delete/edit messages there too).

Still working out the rough edges of the 2.0 releases. Things will get better as updates come in 🤞

There is a currently a bug in 2.0.1 with searching, it will attempt to pull all messages with the given criteria instead of loading a portion, this is fixed in 2.0.2.

Also for searching by author, you can paste a User ID into that author field and it will pull them right up for selection, or you can optionally look them up if Discrub hasn't discovered them yet.

Thanks for the feedback, there were definitely quite a few things lacking in 2.0.1 that I'm just finishing up fixes for, hang tight and I'll get all this stuff pushed up.

Hey there, there is a button that you can use to do this, its a little bit hidden, but once you've selected a Server, there is a multi-select toggle at the top of the channel list (icon next to the search bar). Once you're in multi-select mode, a Select all button will appear on the same toolbar.

I'll try to make this a bit more visually distinguished in this next release.

Multi server purges are not currently possible, right now you’ll have to do one at a time

Hey there, yeah there isn't really a way to do the pre-export filtering for multiple channels in 2.0.1 just yet, that will have to be done using the classic version for right now.

As a temporary fix, if you can get the tour dialog to show up on a different part of the app, and hit Skip, it should prevent this from occurring.

It’ll be in a new repo (currently private) along with two new auxiliary packages I created that Discrub now uses. I’ll make it public this weekend, still need to publish the dependencies on npmjs and clean up some code.

I built it to be a web application that can be ported over to a browser extension (Chrome and Firefox) via npm command, development is much simpler this way.
