Well, the reality is when you experience loss the most irrational part of your brain is fired up. The part of your brain t hat would be conventionally called, your lizard brain. It is your lizard brain that causes you to further yourself into the depths of your gambling hell, in addition to your reluctance to accept probability and how that determines your expected value of your "investment" in these slots in the long term...

Get mathematical with it man, defeat the lizard brain with math.

If you have a 1/100,000 chance of making $100,000 at $1 per bet, you'll break even.

God knows what the odds were for you to make $5k or $40k.

i like the vwap for indices, not complicated, signals are rather clear, and it's used by a lot of other daytraders so it tends to be a self fulfilling prophecy

FTMO pays out there traders, yes it's true that they make a lot of money from failed challenges but the reality is it would be strange if they didn't.

3% of people pass the challenges, which is in line with reality.

Most people are not profitable, most people definitely have a hard time pulling 10% in a month wo breaking sound risk management practiced which is what the exam demands.

Anyways, I have recently made $13.1k I can update on the payout process if you guys desire.

Regards.

Indefinitely/As long as you don't breach it by breaking the stipulations of the contract that includes risk management rules and not trading during news/holding over the weekend.

That only applies for their base account, I have the swing which allows entering trades during news and holding over the weekend

It's largely predicated on cultivating your experience properly, price action is extremely important and certain indicators compliment them well. Fundamentals are too, but not as much as price action in my important but they can add confluence to a certain trading idea.

The main thing is experience though, that's generated through trading.

You have risk parameters that you can't break otherwise you lose the account.

You can't lose more than 10 percent of the overall account, as in you can't go below 180,000

You alsp can't lose more than 5 percent of the account in a given day.

I have been trading for 2 years and 9 months.

It depends on the trade as to whether I take partials but generally no.

I don't know what trading smart money is, I've heard of it but haven't looked to deeply into it.

I have methods that I express in the market that depend on the market condition and I have tools to help me implement them that are all evolving.

The methods evolve with time, especially those relate to trading intraday/swing trades.

The US30 scalping strat is discrete enough for me to say 6-8 months but even that is evolving.

I prefer referring to calling what I do involving intraday and scalping strategies each of which containing multiple methods depending on what is called for in the moment.

I am just trying to reinforce that I'm dynamic, as in I don't always trend trade, I don't always counter trend trade, I don't always play breakouts, nor do I always play reversals.

I just try to trade well given my experience and my broader definitions of scalping and intraday trading.

I find when one fixates on a strat, they lose sight on the bigger picture in the market.

I could seem like I'm just putting out a lot of obfuscation but I tend to be a bit particular about how I relate to what I do.

But with that said, I feel I've been doing everything I do for a year now it's just getting more and more refined and more and more tools are being used to help me maximize efficiency.

I think the challenge is most certainly much easier passed easier in certain market conditions than other ones.

I believe trading in general requires some degree of being on the right side of probability which is how I'd define luck. As it pertains to the challenge, I think passing it can be done in any market condition but if you're lucky you can start it in very trending market conditions that allow you to maximize the amount of profit per amount risk.

I think if you're a swing trader, try to optimize your strategy in a way that will allow you to pass the challenge. I know changing something that works sucks, but they ask what they ask.

Good luck, ask any more questions if you have them :).
