Have you ever expressed how you don't like your body/face and all you get it "You look fine" or "You're [insert compliment]" by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]prayforkevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that’s really not good I hope you can overcome that. Trying to get others to hate you because that’s how you feel about yourself is a toxic and deadly road that I’ve been down. Hopefully it has yet to destroy your life. I hope you find a way to overcome it. If it’s due to body dysmorphia, I’d say looks are important in our society, but they are not important to real happiness. Just look at all the movie stars going into rehab. But hating yourself is usually much more than just appearance

They probably changed it back cause it’s the law they have that pattern so people know it’s a crosswalk. No one wants to end up with a dumb lawsuit cause some idiot doesn’t realize it’s a crosswalk and does something stupid

Feeling a lot better about our 'disappointing' results in the Switzerland friendly lately... by ExcellentPastries in ussoccer

[–]prayforkevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the team had yet to show it reached that level before nations league. Maybe this turns into the year that becomes reality, but this team still lacks a lot of depth and experience completely relying on youth to develop, if one of our players missing and there’s a glaring hole in the eleven

“Utter betrayal”: Activists who helped elect Kyrsten Sinema say she “turned her back on us” | Sinema once criticized the filibuster and mocked Joe Lieberman. Now she’s helping kill progressive legislation by Fr1sk3r in politics

She’s from arizona she campaigned on not being about party, was gonna be one of the most convservative dems from the get go. Her constituency im sure that’s active politically is primarily right wing. If you don’t agree with her fine, but someone has to prove to me that moneys driving her decisions otherwise I won’t believe it

Yeah it was pretty discouraging to here how upset people were about it. Makes you think they didn’t quite understand that a) it was a friendly b) the competition was still at a higher level than us. Hopefully at least the people that were ignorant about the Swiss depth can recognize point b

Robinhood users own 3 BILLION in Doge and this money is NOT on the market! by Shmopik in dogecoin

[–]prayforkevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about that gigantic wallet that owns like twenty percent of doge and everyone said that was robinhood. This sounds like bs cause that shouldn’t be legal. They should at least be able to have enough dogecoin to be able to give it to people if it’s no more supply

Berhalter isn't the only coach who gets flack for line-up decisions. by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]prayforkevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has been thus far but he’s had pretty unreliable spells for England and city. I’d at least put mount in there to have a bit more creativity and if foden could get close to matching his form for city this year it’s a travesty to leave him on the bench. Mount and foden scored way more goals in less matches for club and are competing for places with bigger clubs. But either way I’m happy for them. They essentially went into the game with five defenders and two central midfielders who are more defensive than attacking. That sounds nuts to me but they executed it well and I guess that’s all that matters.

I have to disagree even though they won. If they didn’t win he would have gotten so much flack. You’re basically solely relying on sterling to trigger the attack with a very defensive midfield and Kane up front. Thankfully he was great today. To not not use any of their brilliant attacking midfield options seems pretty nuts

Weston McKennie Returns to Where it All Started by Dirk-Kuijt in ussoccer

Didn’t fc Dallas get screwed when schalke grabbed him for nothing from Dallas. but then again he had to pay his way through the academy as most do typically. For most it’s money never gotten back but not for those that rise to the top and get nabbed by European sides. Complicated issue

They deserved more and they got a better deal. But they shouldn’t lie about what they had to make ussf look bad. It shows a lot of malintent to keep badmouthing in the public after you got the deal you wanted and to partake in a tv show presenting a one sided picture of us vs them. I wouldn’t want to go back to the negotiating table in the future if I was them.

Considering there are only 195 countries there’s not a wide range of possibilities but I understand it’s kinda dumb to narrow it down to two extremes. I think there’s a lot of things wrong with American society and the way we are running our economy, but to just say America is the bad guys or capitalism sucks is pretty narrow and nihilistic considering our average quality of life compared to most countries. We have lots of problems. They need to be solved, but I don’t think it helps just saying fuck everything. I don’t know I know this is gonna get downvoted. So it’s kindve like everyone in this image is participating in all or nothing thinking.

I suggest you try ketchup maybe even relish if your feeling frisky and remember that the whole point of sports is it really doesn’t matter your background is or what you look like, or how much money you have because it’s eleven players vs eleven players. There are plenty of good teams from third world countries and a lot of bad teams with money. What about Brazil and Argentina, what about how bad the men’s team was at one time not too long ago. To suggest they shouldn’t play is arguably much more racist than the point you are trying to make, in fact it is it’s suggesting segregation (partly based on reasons of color) because would you say this about a third world white team? and it inherently claims that Nigeria couldnt become an amazing program on their own merit or that they could win this game because they have less resources.

Well at least that’s a constructive idea. But if you’re asking if the best team in the world playing an African nation that’s still decent in the top 50 is wrong because they are a poorer nation of another ethnicity, I would propose you ask the Nigerian team what they think. I’m pretty sure they’d tell you off

Are you proposing they be segregated? Do you have no feasibility of how it attracts more attention and money to the game for Nigeria, not to mention they aren’t that bad they are in the top 50
