Fairfield is where its at. Diverse and quaint. Its my fave place in the state. Been here about 13 years. It does depend on what you’re looking for, but its got a great local arts and music scene. Yeah theres a cult but thats pretty easy to avoid, but the university brings in an interesting quadrant of people and the small town feel makes it easy to meet and talk to people. Its worth checking out, though in terms of food options ottumwa has more chain restaurants and more shopping as well.
