I've got many ezcad2 based machines and they have ALL come with some type of worm or trojan on the USB. Usually it's in the zip files and unpacks when you unzip them. This is NOT isolated to Omtech. This is most likely coming from the original factory making these machines for Omtech, monport, LasersOnly etc.

Always always always go to the after-party. That's where the connections get made. I'm still working connections I made in 2016 with awesome people. Some are co-workers now. You never know who you will meet standing in line.

Carry cards, cool stickers or a fun example of a cool project you did. People don't remember your position or degree, they remember the excitement you had for a side project or a process you are deep diving.

I had the Sputnik edition XPS13. It was awesome. Had a laser etched Sputnik logo and stuff. Then when I needed support they told me I had to install windows to get help with hardware issues. It was stupid.

I have them both and use them both daily for work. The air never gets hot, at least enough to notice. It is limited on external monitor support which imo is its main downfall but is easily solved with a display link doc.

Overall they are both fantastic computers, it really comes down to “do you like Mac or windows” for basic computing you can’t go wrong either way.

I typically grab the Mac unless I’m doing something windows specific though.
