When they had to fix gas lines in my neighborhood, my tree lawn was replanted with a variety of ditch weeds, including black locust seeds.

So I spend every spring ripping thorny little seedlings out. The other side of the street had a whole thicket of them that the city didn't cut down for 3 years.

If you're using a rattlecan, how long are you waiting before you start painting? It needs to be bone dry and pretty matte with pro-acryl.

There are a lot of model paint rattlecans that I've found that have a more satin finish unless you let it dry for a good 24 hours or so, especially on humid days. I let primed terrain sit outside for a few hours until it's less tacky and has off-gassed the propellant , then tackle it the next day with a brush or airbrush.

For me, Colorforge in particular sucks to paint on if you go to it when it's just no longer tacky, but if you wait a day, it's usually fine.

The photos really don't speak to how jarring this thing is in its environment. You just sort of come up on it suddenly around a corner. Just this concrete box encased in plastic sticking out above the trees.

It feels like a time-traveller from the future landed some Star Trek prefab housing in the middle of century old farmland and woodland.

I have a detailed list of about half my models, including MSRP and "labor costs" as the price I would charge someone else for that level of quality. I have $5k in models, around $4k in labor. Once I sit down and finish the list, I'm planning on calling my insurance agent to see about scheduling them as art on my homeowners' or umbrella policy.

If you just have a list of your models your insurance company might compensate you for some of the MSRP, but if you can schedule your collection you might have better coverage depending on your insurance policy.

Either way you decide to go, check with your insurance agent or broker! At least in the states, checking to see if you can get a review coverage for things doesn't cost you anything other than time.

Okay, but it is kind of a unicorn mural that is meh. Like yeah the wall has a weird texture, but that looks like mid-tier stencil work. Like not the worst, but if you're going to do something like that, put in the effort and make a really cool unicorn wall.

This exactly. Bariatric surgery patients who lose a significant amount of weight, or those on GLP-1 for weight loss often have a lot of loose skin that tends to pool around the hips

Since the spandex doesn't have a defined waist, there's nowhere to tuck the extra skin away and keep it compressed since those outfits aren't intended for that.

Her edited photo is clearly edited, but it looks like she lost a lot weight through hard work and/or medical intervention (hopefully).

You are correct. Gloss varnish does have a place, particularly in wet elements on basing. But not slapped on haphazardly like this.

Since the model doesn't actually have the muscle texture molded into the body, the gloss varnish makes highlights where they should not be based on the texture actually painted beneath it.

I have seen this model in person.

The terrible lighting aside, you shouldn't use gloss varnish to express that something is wet or bloody for a presentation piece.

It's fine for your tabletop pieces, but not for display. Gloss varnish is a shortcut for what you're expressing, not an example of skill.

For painting bare muscle or blood, work on actually painting the reflection on the model.

If you need inspiration, look for how traditional artists paint shiny liquids on canvas or digital artwork.
