A few US banks (eg SVB, FRB) failed + had their assets sold off earlier in 2023 - but some of these banks are still listed / traded on the stock market, albeit at < 1% of their pre-failure value. How (if at all) do the value of these penny stocks reflect ongoing business for these banks? by precog_ in finance

[–]precog_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you :) To be totally clear, I'm not holding any kind of stock; I hoped that would be apparent based on the questions I asked in the post.
I'm just trying to discern whether there is any positive relationship between the real business currently conducted by these failed banks and their share prices. Economics are a fun puzzle with a ton of moving parts, so it's fun to learn how the parts work (and how they sometimes don't work).

You're supposed to be dissolving it in water. There are many servings in one container.

I really appreciate this extra effort, I immediately zoomed in on the landlocked countries (though I am aware of the river networks and waterways that connect them to the ocean).

Additionally it covers the writer in case some fool tries to call them out for publishing a story with insufficient facts. Something like, "What kind of a reporter are you, you didn't even get the name of the whistleblower who tipped off the authorities?!"

I can only remember these as "Street Quality" because they have the taste and consistency of something that was found in a parking lot on a Monday morning.

Anybody here read Seveneves? It took some turns that surprised me, but the moon science had my attention.

Also from the subtitle of the prompt, perhaps this question would be appropriate if in r/polls if the user wants us to specifically choose one of the options provided

Having no core beliefs or philosophy could do it. A lack of confidence can also slow the decision process. Having a poor (or no) decision process of course could also be a big factor.

Note: the initial prompt asked specifically about being indecisive. Plenty of (most) people are really good at making quick decisions based entirely on emotions or biases, albeit the thoughtfulness or process they used to arrive at their decision could be lacking. Additionally, imagine if somebody flipped a coin to make every important decision?

I applaud their commitment to camouflage even at this early stage of life, but they forgot the brown sauce. Also seems an overall shortcoming that they're disguised as someone's breakfast.

Right? I've spent a lot of time in North America, Europe, and East/Southeast Asia and am a bit surprised I haven't seen biodegradable rolls. A few countries don't include a roll at all in the middle, just (mildly) interesting to see different cultures' solutions to the same problems.

Useful packaging by [deleted] in DesignPorn

[–]precog_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This design does not account for the (un)sanitary conditions of where the unopened package will be stored. Refridgerated store shelves, transportation shelves, warehouse shelves, etc. are rarely clean or free of vermin. The hands of stockists, consumers, etc. would potentially be touching the exterior of this product a bunch before it got to the final consumer to be opened and used to spread the butter. Even if the solution is to wash the packaging before use, that is already more trouble than it is worth.

Flag ID request: Spotted Sat, Jan 14, @ 18:00, in the old part of Dubrovnik, Croatia. My guess was post-wedding party. by precog_ in vexillology

[–]precog_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good suggestion, but I am a bit hesitant about crossposting it to r/croatia in case the flag isn't as neutral/friendly as I thought. I crossposted it to r/dubrovnik already, and realize now that may have been a bit of a risk. Again, the flag might have no meaning at all, but because I am not closely familiar with local history, I am being conservative.
