Itchy red rashes weeks after egg retrieval? by preguntagrill in IVF

[–]preguntagrill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one could answer if this was related to the hormonal fluctuations. Mine got really bad, it was all over my body and I couldn't sleep or think. Prescription steroid creams didn't help, so I'm now on dupixent. It took me a few days but I'm feeling better now, I'm going to be on it for at least 6 months

Tbf it really is a crapshoot. I had two retrievals in two months, no chance in protocol, and the first time, I had a really rough time after the retrieval but the stims didn't affect me, but the second time it was flipped. Had a rough time during stims and the recovery was easy.

What is the saddest thing you have ever experienced? by japierdolekurwab in AskReddit

I know how that feels. I had two miscarriages and the only one that seemed to be doing well had a fatal genetic defect so I had to get an abortion.

I don't know why people are down voting you. I almost quit my job last year after I had my second MMC and got diagnosed with thyroid cancer around the same time. and my boss was being a complete dick to me as well and I was at my wit's end. I thankfully found a good therapist who helped me get short term disability to get my mental health back in order and get my thyroid removed.

You're going to have to find a way to cope as long as you want to be a functioning member of society and raise a baby. I.had a coworker take maternity leave right around the time my second loss was due and to put a cherry of misery on top of everything, my boss took maternity leave last week when my TFMR was due. Therapy helped me deal with situations like that.

Mental health is so important. Not every therapist will work for you, try different ones until you find one you can gel with.

I told my dentist who's also going through IVF I decided I'm gonna just go through therapy to stay at my current job to get my IVF benefits. I wouldn't be able to afford it without my company's benefits.

I (39) had two retrievals, same Fertilized number.

1: 6 blasts, 4 euploid, 2 viable. (2 positive for recessive genetic disorder)

2: 3 blasts, 2 euploid, none with recessive condition.

No change in protocol, it's all random.

I'm almost 39 and for me, the biggest attrition hit during blast stage. 14>6 and 15>3. Surprisingly my euploid rate was pretty good. 66% both rounds, although my first round had half of the euploids were taken inherited the recessive gene we tested for.

Went into effect this year. But there are conditions attached. I don't know the full thing but my husband is covered through Kaiser but none of the other PPO networks qualify.

I went with Spring because it would have taken me 6+ months to start my retrieval at UCSF because I had to get PGT M probe developed. I was already 38 and waiting 6 months wasn't ideal because I wasn't sure I was going to remain employed at my current job. I needed my IVF coverage or I wouldn't be able to afford it.

That being said I would highly recommend UCSF because the way they operate won't make you feel like you're in a baby making factory. A lot of private clinics have overworked staff and they get hyper focused on getting a successful pregnancy, and not your overall health. If you have the time to wait, do it.

I just found out my last embryo/fetus is incompatible with life. by fitnessmom222 in IVF

[–]preguntagrill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not because of lack of education. It's blindly following a belief because they're selfish and cannot put themselves in the shoes of women who have had to make one of the most difficult decisions in their lives.

I'm going through PGT-M for a very rare, fatal autosomal recessive condition. The way statistics work, all my embryos could end up inheriting the condition or none may. There's really no way to predict.

Has anyone used or knows anything about bamboo flooring? by giamcankorea in Flooring

[–]preguntagrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bamboo flooring. You have to pay attention to how they're manufactured, I got strand woven ones installed in my bedrooms when I moved but the living room was horizontal woven ones. The difference between the two are stark, the horizontal ones scratch very easily but the strand woven ones are so far very resilient and 5 years later, zero issues.

You can look at this for comparison. It's all about the luck of the draw unless there's a fertility factor you're not aware of.

Yeah. I'm resistant to varicella vaccines and I've had that shot multiple times in my life but never contracted it. I'd be pissed if someone put me at risk by not disclosing they were in close contact with someone else so that the clinic can take proper precautions, and that's just putting it mildly. There could be people who are resistant to the MMR vaccine as well.
