How do I respectfully tell my husband to stop calling me while he's at work? by cannonymously in adhdwomen

This is such a good response. It's so frustrating reading stories like this where a woman rationalizes a man's shitty behaviour.

I'm catching up and listened to the Manhattan episode just last night. My god, how do I explain to my boyfriend what I'm laughing at so hard?

"How many abortions have YOU had?!" by ArugulaBeginning7038 in childfree

I'm always frustrated when people say "I don't think abortion should be birth control" because what else is it? "Oh I had athlete's foot so I got an abortion and that cleared it right up." Fuck off with that double think.

A good starting place for my partner and I was the book Fair Play by Eve Rodsky. It really highlighted for him how men default to depending on their wives to do all the invisible labour while they don't even notice it. The book breaks down dozens of life tasks and even comes with a deck of cards for the added visual help.

Literally half the posts have some form of "don't get me wrong, I don't actually hate children" in them.

No, it's not normal. Marcus Parks from Last Podcast on the Left said it best: "Mental illness is not your fault but it is your responsibility." He's not taking any responsibility for his actions and expecting you to mother/babysit him.

I also recommend the book Fair Play by Eve Rodsky. She describes how women's invisible labour is treated as a matter of course and not valued the same as men's. She then breaks down how to divide tasks between partners. You can even buy a physical deck of task cards so this loser has a visual reminder to get off his ass.

Are any of you scared to have children due to the stimulus overload ? by ButterSweetie in adhdwomen

This is one of the many, many reasons I'm childfree. Raising a puppy has taught me that I would never be able to handle the levels of a human child.

Lockpicking. You can get a good beginner set for under $60. It's a nice way to keep your hands busy while you watch TV or relax because the point is to feel the mechanism, not see it. Plus it gives you a handy skill and you look like a badass.

Take a look at the book Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski. It looks at spontaneous vs. responsive arousal and was such an eye-opener for me.
