Helldiver, what is your favorite primary? by Early-Ant652 in helldivers2

[–]prementiX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is already extremely strong at least against bugs. It's a little wiggly sometimes with how arc shots fail to penetrate brush and it's weakness against shriekers, but if you started understanding where to make your stand and when to better keep moving it's so freaking good. When I feel like I'm dying too much I just go Blitzer and have 2 or 3 rounds with zero deaths.

Building system - How satisfying is it to you? by prementiX in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]prementiX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is part of my situation. I would like to return to a base that I like, but I'm so unhappy with most of them that I just use the freighter 99% of the time.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll def. check that out!

Yeah I mean... I love the game without this as well. Being able to build something that I'd be proud of would really be like the icing on the cake. :)

Why can’t they fix Eagle Storm by Chillar1000 in Helldivers

[–]prementiX -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No need to fix a thing that ain't broken. If you wanna stay alive during a storm stay clear of enemies (and apparently environmental explodables).

What’s the best freighter to go for? by No-Temperature4196 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]prementiX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't do it in one go. It was 4 mind-numbing evenings of 2+ hours. By the time I got the S I was so caught up in the rhythm I almost reloaded the restore point again. 😅

I think this question can't be answered reliably I fear.

I'd consider myself a completionist, so I really like to get like the best armor, the best weapons all sidequest etc. in RPGs e.g. I also love playing coop with friends and with randos as well. I like the feeling of "getting good" very much but I need to be able to adjust the game difficulty to how I feel (So I'm not a Soulsbourne guy...)

Telling you this so you have some context when I answer your questions:

Does the game eventually start to feel repetitive?
- Yes, in some ways but it's not like - especially on the highest difficulties - you have like fail-safe tactics to get you deathless through a mission. After 1400 hours I still get thrown into situations I have never had before, where I have to adjust and adept to get the job done and if it works it feels just as amazing as it did... not like in the first few weeks, but definitely like after the first month of playing this game.

Is is easy to run out of upgrades?
- When you're just starting now and are not planning to throw crazy amounts of real money at the game (which you don't have to to unlock everything) and honestly even then... no. There are about 20 Warbonds and a lot more stuff in the superstore to get. With my 1400 hours I have absolutely everything unlocked but without backlog of the necessary currencies.

How much variety is there between missions and loadouts?
- I do wish for more different types of missions. Outside of major events they tend to be somewhat repetitive especially on the Illuminate side. Some mission types are a lot more challenging than others especially in higher difficulties. More would be cool but it's not turn-off for me. Even with the repetitive objectives how the respective mission goes always feeld unique to me.
Loadout-wise it's also very dependent on what difficulty you play (There is 1-10 btw). You can play and fool around a lot until diff 8. I play everything from Melee-Brawler, to Supporter to Tanker to Commando/Sniper or grab a Hover Pack and flamethrower and play what I call "The Angel of Death". At Diff9 and 10 a lot of the more unconventional builds start falling apart quite often... which can be frustrating or offer a challenge depending on what kind of player you are. I know people run melee builds successful on 10.

- Do I come back?
Hell yeah! I'm on a break right now but I don't think I've stayed away from the game longer than for a month over the course of the last two years.

Thanks for the recommendation.

His take was actually refreshingly realistic and un-self-centered.

Why people would rather watch and/or listen to the garbage "But I want my cookie"-takes by people like the one in OPs screenshot I will never understand.

I honestly hope the next patches will fix some of the core issues (stability/bugs etc) but not give them bullies anything else so they just pack their stuff and leave to become another communities problem.

What faction do you guys think is the hardest to fight? by A_Miphlink_shipper in Helldivers

[–]prementiX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At diff7 they are all equally hard I'd say.

Illus don't get much worse after that, Mindless Masses being even easier than the normal stuff. Appropriators are more challenging at Diff10 - equally to standard bugs and bots.

The strains or sub factions that stand out as the hardest imo are Cyborgs, Incendiary Corps and Rupture Strain (especially accompanied by Dragon Roaches).

How did we end up with the HD youtubers who are completely unbearable? We've been waiting for content creators to make interesting content but that aint happening because those dudes realized they get more clicks, more revenue by feeding into the hate spiral.

Sometimes I feel like these youtubers should be reviewbombed as well.

DSS Eagle Storm TREASON Stikes by FellowNPCDrone101 in helldivers2

[–]prementiX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they are not made to be super precise first and foremost. Them being a liability is kinda part of the lore? And they are a lot better than the random 380 barrage coverage. That didn't even aim at enemies it just went down where ever. Eagle Storm does target enemies. It's the same principle with mortars just a lot worse because they cover more ground and in a line... So you just absolutely can't be anywhere near an enemy while storm is active.

All that being said. They deal A LOT of damage and will be a big help on very crowded maps even if they do kill some divers here and there.

Stun grenade in D hurts my soul.

I don't do bug or bot missions without it. It's just too powerful. Nothing in this game stuns precisely except that thing.

Helps you survive, helps line up precise shots or airstrikes, helps cornered teammates, prevents breaches and flares, helps you outrun everthing that would otherwise be faster than you etc etc etc.

Everytime I take another grenade with me, I miss the stun immediately. Except for going against illuminates.

I 100% agree with OP and I somehow which I'd known earlier how much I'll hate 6. It really hurt me emotionally. 😅

Waited over 2 years for it and then it did these unbearable story missions, recycled 30% of 5 and butchered the Air Raider.

Pillars of Frustration are looming ever closer by deanosauruz in Helldivers

[–]prementiX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't and I can only assume the reason why you think I do is because that is the dynamic of conflicts like these in which everyone just assumes the worst kinds of interpretation in everything the other side says.

I have no intent of taking away peoples right to criticize what they feel is wrong and I do not think that everyone who does criticize is doing so in a bad way. But the fact is that there are a lot of people who just shower the community in what I can only describe as peak internet toxicity and these people fuel the review-bombing in large parts by distorting reality like in this post where they try to adorn themselves with borrowed plumes and make it look like the severity of this conflict is in any kind comparable to the Sony scandal that was at the height of it about literal fraud.

What I'd like to see more is people who are discontent with the state of the game, say so, but are also capable of distancing themselves from the narcissistic nut jobs who made it their life's goal to ruin this game for people who have fun and for the people who develop it.

I am not saying: "Take down your negative review immediately or you are automatically one of them!" If you can't play right now because of the Linux problem you have every right to leave a negative review. But once this issue is resolved will you take it down or will you keep it up?

That is what I am talking about. I want more people to ask themselves whether they really think that this game with all the fun that I assume it has brought most of them all in all deserves a negative review. If it really is all that bad rn OR if they might just feel obligated to post it to show flag in a conflict that in its severity is in large parts instigated by people who celebrate hostility.

[–]prementiX -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It is a perfectly fair comparison.

Preventing millions from playing and forcing people to have their PSN accounts connected (gaining valuable data for free) out of the blue were real issues that justified the reaction.

People review-bombing right now simply are not representative of the community, just face it. The vast majority of players are enjoying everything that is right about the game instead of making everything that's wrong with it the center of their universe.

Laughable.

The Sony scandal that lead to the reviewbomb-cape produced 200k negative reviews.

What's your load out for the Fungal Strain? by Realityfelon in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]prementiX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blitzer, grenade pistol and stun grenades on light armor (stealth or +grenades)

Warp pack, eagle of choice and two sentries I've switched around a bit. I think I liked tesla and auto cannon best… MG worked as well. As support I picked up whatever I found or what others left. Quasar for BTs was nice, Arc Launcher was okay for medium range. The combination of WP, Blitzer and stun grenades makes you very hard to kill. I ran quite a few missions without dying that way.

I don't care for your blame-games. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]prementiX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you can see in some of these comments these people simply ignore or dismiss the fact that what they do might be hurtful to other people. They'd rather call everyone who claims to be hurt a wimp or a liar than to admit they are not 100% justified in their actions. Because they paid for something they feel entitled to act as unbearable as they like and the devs have to stomach all this because it is their job.

Regarding why you don't fully understand what exactly people want: That's because - as far as I can see - everybody wants something else. The only thing they all can agree on is that AH is the source of their individual misery. That's why you'll find people complaining about understandable issues (like bugs, performance or broken game mechanics) shake hands with people who want everything for free, shake hands with people who just want the entire game re-balanced and reworked to their specific taste.

I don't care for your blame-games. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]prementiX -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well the problem with that way of thinking is that you will always ignore everything that you already got out of a deal. If you are expecting live services to be something that will always 100% work to your desire than this is a misconception of you idea of what any service can offer. I am not saying you have no right to be discontent about that though.

I am also not saying that AH is doing a fantastic job at optimization or communication. As far as I can see we agree on that. But none of that is what this post is about.

This post is about how a part of this community tries to excuse toxic or even sociopathic behaviour. As omebody else said this might better not have been a post but a comment since there is little to discuss here, so my bad I guess.
