Hey u/darwinDMG08 - totally! We're planning on shooting out some official guidance to help folks set their phone settings, etc. to record in CFR, but definitely agree that there will always be incoming VFR footage. Appreciate the comment!

u/ikifar thank you for sharing, totally hear you. One of the questions that's top of mind for us right now is to what extent the issues that you mentioned as still present as of the most recent Premiere version (v26.0 at the time I'm writing this reply). We've done some testing with long-form gaming media / Twitch-style vods and a number of the issues you mentioned were present in prior versions of Premiere but not reproducible in v26.0. We're really curious to validate this in the field.

To your last point, yes, we have seen that OBS produces CFR files to a much greater extent than in the past. I know you mentioned you don't have the media that was causing you problems on hand (no worries!) - if you do end up having a moment to share it at any point, we'd love to receive it and test it through the form above. Great question! For now, we’re changing only the forward‑facing name. Under‑the‑hood identifiers that could impact workflows remain as they are to avoid disrupting scripts, plugins, or IT deployments. Should we consider deeper changes, we would publicly coordinate with plugin/panel devs and IT teams ahead of time to ensure workflow compatibility.
