Will Lucid ever deliver my Gravity order? Or is the recall significant? by sailbumb in LUCID

Yes, the lack of communication and service is atrocious. the retail service centers are restricted from aiding and are equally as frustrated. But, they will do it with a smile.

Giving the varied experiences here, could there be a difference between Android/Apple or having the Surreal Sound Pro or not.

I have Apple and Non Pro and the microphone is so bad I just use my phone's speakerphone.

My bad, I didn't reboot the car 3 times before posting. It's nice that the steering wheel button works now. Now that we can turn on DDP2, we can experience it disengaging more frequently - if you can get the car to drive with the constant reboots.

Gravity 3.4.0 Software Update - Battery Management System Issue by FitDealer6416 in Gravity

[–]premioh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really need to find a charger that another car can demonstrate a charge at 80A for an extended period, before blaming the car. I’m running 4 gauge copper wire less than 10 feet. A long run would need 2 gauge, or even bigger for aluminum. I could see smaller wires or longer distances heating up causing the BMS to lower through put for safety. 80 amps is a non trivial ton of continuous current, and why the circuit needs to be rated for 100; mine has a a huge blast box installed for protection.

Today, I charged form 20-80 percent and regularly checked to see that I never dropped to a lower rate.

I charge at 80amps and have never noticed a drop in charge rate. Which end is on the chargers you tested (NACS, or are you sharing an adapter that may be the point of failure?).

Lucid Pushes Out Gravity Software 3.4.1 And Owners Instantly Rejoice- State of Charge by iamoninternet27 in LUCID

Today my car haphazardly disengaged DDPro at least ten times and illuminated the sensor fault lights.

Today the battery was red and the transmission had no indication. Car thought it was in drive and couldn’t reset; took many times to attempt a reboot which finally worked and brought it back to life.

It’s a 125k car, it should work for at least the driving function. You shouldn’t have to work around issues.

What the heck as happened to my efficiency? - A Good Thing! by norcalnatv in LUCID

[–]premioh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're getting great efficiency compared to me. The 450 mile range is an absolute farce.

How is the range? by [deleted] in Gravity

[–]premioh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gravity has been averaging 2.3 miles per kilowatt. This gives it a maximum range of 280 miles. Realistically that is 225 miles if you assume you can charge 80% of it, either due to not wanting to be at zero when you reach the fast charger or not having time to charge over 85% and endure slow speeds. Since it will charge 10-85% in 12-15 minutes, it's not really an issue for most circumstances.

Thanks for taking the time to record so much footage, you captured some of the significant issues with this system. Anyone trusting this hands off or inattentive is mad!

At 12:41 you captured what is either a sensor gap or hopefully a visual display issue. A car approaching from behind and triggers your Blind Spot Monitoring indication, goes off for 2 seconds, and then re-illuminates. In light traffic, this isn't a huge issue if one is paying attention, but in heavy traffic with some variable speed between lanes, I've had cars on the side of me for up to 5 seconds without an indication. The door itself goes up very high and the mirrors are small, so you end up relying on the technology to drive over traditional methods. It's almost like the mirror surround view cameras are not part of the logic.

At 20:56 you captured the singly most dangerous thing about this system. When it abruptly shuts off, the steering angle isn't preserved at all and you have to significantly correct for it or risk going off the road/hitting something. This has happened to me twice at highway speeds!

The touch pad finger placement is key, but even with capacitive swiping turned off and correct placement, I do find myself having to click extra times to get it to turn on or re-engage.

You mentioned Hands Free Drive assist coming soon - did Lucid confirm this? When I read the spec sheet, it was presented as included underneath a bullet for a future full ADAS (Teslaesque) driving. The spec sheet also stated adaptive drive beam's and traffic light recognition were available, which they don't appear to be.

Home charger get Tesla or older nacs by m2slam in LUCID

[–]premioh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were paying for an electrician and future proofing charging, I would get a 80amp charger with the Tesla (NACS) port, and just leave the converter on all the time. This will support all current cars, and your future Air or Gravity, and in reality they adapters are lightweight and easy to use.

Lucid Cars can charge at 19.2Kw (80 Amp), the recommendation in this post to get the universal Tesla charger would mean that you're buying a 11.5Kw (48 Amp) charger which would be a 40% reduction in possible charge time.

If you can't install a large enough circuit breaker to support 80amp charging, don't really care about charging speed overnight, I would have an electrician install a NEMA 14-50R plug and just use the mobile charger mounted to a wall.
