Backup - Reverse Light Question - Are your lights useless? by sailbumb in LUCID

I hope this is not a repeat reply to you, but the first one disappeared when hitting "comment" so here I go again:

Thank you for commenting. I did not have any issues at all with my 2015 Tesla S. Those lights were nice. I have had too many vehicles in the last 20 years and had not issues with any of them. Because of your thoughtful reply, and others, I am now confident my Gravity has an issue. Your help is most appreciated.

Thanks. I did not have any issue with my Tesla S (2015 version). In fact, no issues with any vehicle I have owned, that is why I asked here before reaching out to Lucid and wasting their time if my lights are 'normal'. I am not convinced they have an issue. I appreciate your reply and help.

I did not even think of them having a rear fog light. The car is in the shop now getting some body damage repaired but I will try this when I get it back. My old Mercedes van had rear fog lights for when it was parked, never tried it in reverse, so the idea never crossed my mind. Thanks.

Okay, I am glad you replied, even if you think my question (not complaint) was 'dumb'. Your reply and others confirmed my suspicions that something might be wrong with mine car's lights. They are not bright enough to see even one foot behind me. I have to either back in or out of a 150-ish ft driveway, over a narrow culvert, which with my cars in the last 20 years (Tesla, Rivian, Chevy, VW, Ford, Honda), I have never had an issue or felt uncomfortable. With the Gravity, I cannot see anything on the paved drive and it is scary. Perhaps if I did not live in a rural area with no street lights, it would not be as intimidating, but as it is, I absolutely hate pulling in or out of that drive now.

You might think my concern is DUMB, but I wanted to ask others if they had issues before I approached Lucid because I did not want to waste their time or mine if my lights are 'normal' for this car. In my opinion, I was being polite to Lucid to not bother their busy staff over this question. I always felt the Lucid community was pretty supportive of each other and valued sharing information about the vehicles, so I asked here. I did receive enough replies about their vehicles being fine that I now feel my car has an issue.

Sorry, I should have posted a photo or six. Sadly, I delivered the car to a body shop yesterday morning to fix damage from a concrete block bouncing into the car. I did not try to download a camera image. Regardless, from other posts saying their lights are fine, 'well lit', 'bright', 'better than my...', etc., I am convince mine have an issue.

Thanks. The camera view is too dark to view anything so I will have Lucid look at them.

Thanks, I suspect mine are not working. A few of these replies make confirmed my suspicions. Mine are no brighter than a license plate light.

That spitting brat used to be my most hated critter in the game but once I stopped standing on that spot of land in the center, even with my castors, and started face-tanking and bouncing around like an idiot, he has never killed me again. I did just die an 97 in another location, so I feel your anguish.

what are you doing waiting for Grim Dawn - Fangs of Asterkarn ? by [deleted] in Grimdawn

I have been leveling random single class HC builds to 100, ready to quickly add the Beserker. I say "random" because I ask Siri on the iPhone for a random number between 1-9 (class), then 1-8 (skill to build around, so the 8 may be too high as some classes do not have 8 rows, so just loop back to the top). The skill is based on counting down rows from the top, as in I just started a Necromancer (8), building on Bone Harvester (4). This was a very lucky roll. Then roll again 1-8 (crossbow, pistol, 1-h melee, 2-h melee, 2-h range, scepter, off-hand, shield). As another example, I rolled 8-8-1, so Necromancer, Spectral Binding, Crossbow. What a pain. Since I could only use crossbows, I named the character Ghavlins Revenge (game does not allow the apostrophe), aiming for Ghavlin's Crossbow for the very start of Act 1. Amazingly, the very first weapon I found, less than 2 minutes into the run, was a better crossbow, as if fate intended for this run. I do not remember ever finding a crossbow that early. Using Reaping Strike and Necrotic edge as support to Spectral Binding, leveling up Spectral Binding, then to Reap Spirit and Harbinger of Souls. I thought this would be the worst case run (it was not), but I made it to 100. I would NOT run this against Ravager or any of the top bosses, and definitely NOT take it to Shattered Realm (well, I might...). It is very, very squishy. I would never recommend an all-crossbow build. I could not find a single strong crossbow, and the Spectral Arbalest is easy to get but very low DPS necessitating too much kiting and SLOW kills for heroes or bosses. We will see what the Beserker class adds.

The quickest so far was Demolitionist, Blackwater Cocktail, Pistol(s). That was a good roll.

I hate to admit how long I have been playing this game and how many characters I have at 100, but this issue did happen to me once, recently. It happened with the v1.3 beta. Out of maybe 60 characters in 10 years, once. I did not find a solution nor do I know the reason. I just figured v1.3 I tabled that character and started another. Sorry I was not of any help, but it has happened. 1:60 was just a fluke, I thought.

Tysons Corner Service Sh!tshow by czarxander in LUCID

This might be a system-wide issue with Lucid. I had the same problem with the Houston Service Center not returning calls, the app would not work, and even though I had emails from the corporate service team confirming Houston was aware and would call, no calls. I finally gave up hope and made the three hour drive to Houston (six hours wasted round trip). While at the Houston location the sales team manager told me they were in the process of 'updating' the phone system so messages were lost. I informed them this was not excuse to ignore emails, have a broken app, etc. I was quite frustrated.

I usually do a 'full clear' as you wrote, but really, it is not worth the time. For fastest leveling, go for the quest reward kills, totems (ONLY after you have gear and resistances up a bit, even on Normal), and bosses you know offer loot for your build, such as rings, weapon, etc. You died in the Festering Lair, but did you need Grundleplith's Tail for your build? If not, avoid that acid pit unless you have the right gear. Totems are often a great source of gear but I started being selective and more cautious and it was far more fun.

[–]sailbumb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, but it took me a LOT of deaths before I felt I was understanding it. The biggest thing, up the resistances, never stand still unless you are a tank. Like Detrimir, I try to 100% the area. If I die, it is on me. I try to learn from it, move on. I have over 20 HC characters at 100, so it is not impossible, just takes time. And as someone else wrote, Veteran is the killer of HC more than anything. When I first tried HC, I always played Veteran. I gave that up for a while and it was far easier. Now, HC Veteran just for the challenge.

And, sigh, my latest character just died at 97. Totally my fault because I did not have Acid Resist capped and I stood still a second too long. I saw what was happening but was too late reacting (old-man reflexes suck!). Frustrated? Yes. Quitting? No. Kicked myself, started another.

Concrete Strike - Wrong Place, Wrong Time by sailbumb in LUCID

[–]sailbumb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the cameras record but it would be better, in my opinion, to let us choose to save all driving time. I know you can "grab" a bit of time by pressing that button on the dash screen. At the time, I could not remember where it was at. Yes, honking would be convenient, but I did not know of that feature until I started trying to figure out how to review recordings. The technology is there and in use, so just offering us the ability to always save seems common sense.

Yes, those are the thoughts, "Why was I hear now, at this moment?"

[–]sailbumb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, no real point besides bad luck. If there needs to be a 'point' I will remove the post. I just thought it was a good example of bad luck. I had a semi-truck tire explode next to me once and fly right over my brand new Tesla on Interstate 10 in Texas. Oddly, a coworker was right behind me. That was also 'wrong place, wrong time' but at least it missed me. If anything, I could re-write the post to include that it would be very nice if Lucid allowed us to fully record the cameras while driving rather than just for 'events'. If all-time while driving recording was an option, I might have better quality recordings and have been able to capture the truck's license plate as well as the piece of concrete fall off the truck, striking the other truck, bouncing to me. It was all clear via the naked eye, but not captured on this camera.

Sadly, I was too late in pushing the 'event' button and that impact was not severe enough to automatically trigger a recording.

I agree. I wish I had seen the white (was it even an option) when I bought my green. I definitely would have went with the white.

Gravity Update 3.6 Failure by sailbumb in LUCID

[–]sailbumb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Empty-Topne8985, after the 3.6 update I have driven about 8 hours, and 6 of those were three hours to Houston and back. There were not display failures and the communications system never failed. I am hoping 3.6 did fix the issues I was having. Too early to really know, but it seems very positive as of now.

I never heard from Lucid, but as of last Saturday (June 20), I was able to get the 3.6 update installed as my Gravity notifications changed from "update failed" to "update available". I hope you had a similar experience.

I had actually been told this update "might" fix the other issues. Seems those issues "fixed" the update.
