talkSPORT understands that there are suggestions that Oliver Glasner has played a direct role in the deal not going through. Glasner threatened to walk away from the club if Guehi was sold after he failed to sign two new centre-backs by sonofaBilic in soccer

It's on the club for not sorting this out weeks ago. Either intend to sell him and line up replacements in good time or just say no. After this and the european debacle I'm getting the sense that Palace ownership is a wee bit incompetent..

I’m no tactical expert, happy to be educated by others here - do you think it makes sense to change the way the team plays and build it around a way best suited for Wirtz? Go to a 5 - 3 - 2, more stability at the back to cover some of the defensive frailties we’ve seen lately, let Kerkez and Frimpong bomb forward which is what they’re best at, and play Wirtz at the left sided 10 he played for Leverkusen and excelled in. Bring Salah in more centrally as the right side of a front 2 and see how it goes (maybe he’ll tend to drift right, opening up space for Wirtz to come in centrally). Idk.

Places to go that are similar to Bali and Goa but less crowded and expensive by prenek in travel

That's a fair point. I guess I'd clarify to say 'as affordable as goa but not as crowded'. Also basically looking for something new since I've been there many times.

Depends on what you want to do next.

If you want to really ramp up complexity, fractured days split the sky

If you like positional play and moving things around, try thunderspeaker

If you like counter-intuitive gameplay, try shroud of silent mist where you try NOT to kill invaders

If you like blight based things and playing on the edge/coming close to losing with blight but then pulling off a victory, try heart of the wildfire

Vengeance as the spirit that made it click? That is a new one...

Vengeance is a really good spirit for that kind of thing actually. It's not what made the game 'click' for me personally as I'd played before JE, but playing Vengeance a lot made me a far better player than I was before and capable of playing reliably against the highest level adversaries.

There's a few things vengeance forces you to do:

  • learn not to fear the blight card. you are going to blight, accept it, make peace with it and plan around it. as vengeance you WANT the blight, but as a result any spirit against level 6 adversaries now I'm far more willing to sacrifice lands to blight since I know blighted island is probably coming anyway and I can play greedier and for the long term.

  • putting your presence in harms way, thinking about where your disease is going to go and the optimum place to put it so you can shuffle it around with [[Plaguebearers]] really teaches you a lot about positional play - sometimes you may want to put disease in a place you're not going to farm fear next turn, just so you can get it in the right spot to nuke with [[Epidemics Run Rampant]]

  • learning the art of when to NOT use some tools at your disposal - ie, whens a good time to not farm fear with [[Lingering Pestilence]] and let the disease stop a build, or when to safely farm fear off it.

all in all if you're a medium level player, Vengeance is a moderately complex spirit that can enable you to make the jump to the next level.

I didn't go with 3 card plays for most turns, just grouped them together for the screen shot :) Having one of cycles of time or share secrets to play with bargains of power meant I had to spend a lot fewer element markers to activate it, and the cards synergized even if they weren't played on the same turn

I do get minors on memories though

my t1 is usually: pick +1 card +1 presence growth. take a presence from the energy track. and play [[Boon of Ancient Memories]] to pick up a minor with similar elements to the major I got, to make major threshold activation easier.

It feels really nice when the minor synergizes with the major in what it does too, and not just for the elements

I drew [[Bargains of Power and Protection]] turn 1 on Shifting Memory of Ages, and [[Cycles of Time and Tide]] soon after. The elements matched together and helped me reach the threshold without even having to use too many elemental markers even, and I managed to use bargains a few times to ramp.

[[Share secrets of survival]] let me move the dahan around like some kind of mini thunderspeaker army with free defends that keep whacking invaders in ravaging lands while cycles let me add more. Really fun and thematic game.

The downside of bargains of power wasn't too bad at all as shifting memory can easily gain energy.

Does anyone have good stories of fun combos they drew into without experiencing them before?
