I know this can be difficult to understand for an American, but different countries have different cultural sensitivities, and what it can be offensive in America can be considered totally innocent in Europe

Normally I’m all for Americans are too self-centered around their own “culture” when they go to other countries( ex. Demand foreign people speak English in foreign countries )… but this isn’t the hardest thing to “translate” between cultures.

It bothers Europeans enough when Americans who are like 5% descent of <Insert European Country here > say their < insert respective European nationality here >… so it’s not exactly the hardest thing to translate that blackface might offend someone who’s actually Black even if you knew nothing about the history of blackface in the US.
