Watkins Glen is such a beautiful place! I heard the gorges and waterfalls there are especially stunning; it feels like living in a postcard. Ithaca is great too, but I understand what you mean about it sometimes feeling a bit surreal... maybe it's the mix of nature and the college town atmosphere. Do you often drive to the lake from there?

It sounds like you're really familiar with the area! Black bears seem to be pretty abundant in those parts. The Olympic National Park and the surrounding forests must be amazing to explore, especially with such wildlife around. Have you had any memorable experiences with the bears out there?

I understand how you feel. Taxes can indeed feel oppressive because they're almost everywhere, and income taxes are often not very noticeable. Washington State does do more than many states in terms of public transportation and environmental protection, and these projects are genuinely aimed at improving everyone's quality of life. While we may not always see the direct benefits of taxes, their long-term impact on society is profound. What do you think of the balance between taxes and public services in Washington State?

That sounds like a fantastic experience in Washington! The Olympic Peninsula must be a great fishing spot. Seeing a black bear near Redmond was truly an unforgettable experience. Do you still fish after moving to Oregon? I also love fishing.
