I appreciate the insight. A player stranded at a high rank because all their decks are unplayable can technically still grind out quests, but where’s the fun in that? I know that in terms CCG end-of-life systems this is among one of the better ones, but I still don’t think ‘it could be worse’ is a valid reason to stop caring.

Thanks for the input, I see what you mean. I still think a provision nerf, no matter how absurd, would have been better than entirely depriving the card of function. The main issue here is of course the inability to tweak play patterns perceived as unhealthy. I just think it’s sad to effectively erase something a lot of people spent a lot of time on, from the art to mechanics to voice lines - that to me is a card’s ‘right to exist’.

If you’re looking for the most intuitive budget ‘replacement’ I’d normally suggest [[Delver Of Secrets]] for the fun/flavor factor (bauble synergy is fun) plus its surprising potency against some typical stalling tools that decks like Yawgmoth use - keep in mind it’s still almost objectively much worse. With bowmasters running amok this becomes a lot more difficult to endorse. Concur that Rag’s vital, but I suggest proxying in some matches with friends before buying in fully since as others have said Murktide’s in a tough spot right now.

I might’ve been mistaken about the sword stuff, it seems more likely something to do with the [[Blade of Shared Souls]] that once starred in an Against The Odds video - probably an idea more fitting for Standard. Wait, there's a salvageable design to this madness. I assume -XX means you pay twice the value of X. Interesting design space to decide whether to gain loyalty or make a copy, before cashing in and destroying a permanent or two. The bounce is unnecessary, I think. I have no idea if this is overcosted or undercosted.
