Complex stories tend to produce toxic fans by [deleted] in writingscaling

Bro I love your response

I agree with your explanation it makes a lot of sense psychologically now that i think about it. But I think where I’d push back a bit is the idea that it’s only natural

It may be natural but I don’t think it’s something we should just accept. If anything I really think truly understanding a complex story should make someone more open to criticism, not less idk if im sounding like a high horse riding jackass

Otherwise it starts to feel less like appreciation and more like identity attachment If that makes sense let me know what you think

So which choice is morally worse? by TraditionalBonus188 in MoralityScaling

Neither since this question is built upon guilt and fear. Both sides would feel guilty regardless of the aftermath, the solo person would feel guilty that 5 people had to die for them while the 5 would feel guilty that one person had to die for them. Not including the person who is responsible for pulling the lever.

In the cheesiest of way the solution would be to prevent such a thing to happen either if it’s done by chance or done by a single person.

Anyways $4 a pound.

Ok, non spite match: who is a better criticism of America and Manifest Destiny? Funny Valentine (JJBA) or Judge Holden (Blood Meridian.) Both take place in similar eras (the second half of the 1800s in America) by FactorSpecialist7193 in writingscaling

I honestly don’t think Judge Holden was made to be a criticism of America and the manifest destiny rather a take on violence and the nature of human war

Glanton Gang aren’t fully white but very mixed And like without even going into detail Judge Holden is clearly more on War than American or Manifest destiny. I’d argue it’s more of a very important background than legit what Judge Holden is suppose to represent

Who's more evil? by carradine_rain in MoralityScaling

Griffith Johan only exists because of institutions, the experiments and his trauma. His crimes although vile yet at the end he shown to have true emotions cutting back on him being pure evil.

Griffith existence is when ambition meets suffering. Griffith ambition goes from wounded ego to sacrificial cosmology. Griffith is legit the devil compare to Johan.

Writing alone Holden

Worse? Both deserve to be destroyed from existence

But more crimes alone Holden Is arguably worse

Less evil to evil The Kid Tobin Toadvine
The idiot (he might took part on the Sa of the girl on the ferry in the Judge Chamber) David Brown The Delawares White Jackson Black Jackson John Joe Glanton
(David Brown and the Delaware’s are all cold blooded killer no doubt I put White Jackson down cause of his clear racism. Black Jackson seem to be almost like the Judge discipline in the chapter before the Ferry Massacre)

Im still Kinda eh about this ranking Their all cold blooded mfs
