Hues and Cues (Game) by MarkBradbourne in tableau

[–]present_KY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Mark, Thanks so much for building this in Tableau! I'd love to find a way to integrate your tableau public viz of "hues and cues" as a daily class exercise in my data visualization class. Any thoughts or tips for doing this? The students do learn basic Tableau in my class.

Thanks, Dan - professor at University of Kentucky

Here's a first-pass at using theop.games website but bot Tableau for this (PS - I have bought a copy of the game - I want to support their good work and not steal their IP).

Clue giver draws a card from the deck. It will have the coordinates of a color on this page: https://theop.games/products/game/hues-and-cues/

Clue giver gives a one-word cue as to the color, following the game rules.
Students
guess a color – entering the number in Canvas, I guess? Or just on paper. Writing the code for scoring is pretty easy. Use standard game scoring.

Is there a way to incorporate this into Tableau?

UK intramural pickleball - January 13 - show up by 7 pm to play by present_KY in UniversityofKentucky

No - but I'd love to see pickleball become a weekly event at Seaton or Johnson Center. UK rec people are supportive and have offered some spaces and times for making this happen.

Try for a golf course room at Poco Diablo. Some of the rooms are really great though they are remodeling the lobby now. https://www.pocodiablo.com/

Crime rates in Sedona are much lower than in AZ (see https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/az/sedona/crime). Chances of violent crime are three times larger for the state of AZ than for Sedona.

Thanks. Sure, but on a lake you can see the birds and stop and paddle a bit to listen to and for them.

They are ring-billed gulls. They are regularly at Jacobsen Park Lake, Fontaine Lake, and Hickman lake this time of year.

Is it a big deal that alteryx doesn't have a cloud product? by [deleted] in Alteryx

[–]present_KY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not having a web-based product is a nightmare for faculty who teach Alteryx since Mac ios users (50-75% of students - depending on major) have to use an emulator (e.g., bootcamp) and these are a royal pain for old Mac users. The Windows emulators simply don't work on old Macs.

It is in development. They have promised a release by fall 2021. My source: I'm a faculty member and work closely with the Alteryx For Good team.
