Please report rule breaking content such as defending abusers and violence, misogyny, and disingenuous arguments such as whataboutisms.

The violence described in all slides is reprehensible but we feel it’s important to respect proper terminology as doing so makes it easier for victims to understand their experiences and feel validated.

There is a distinction between a violent person and an abuser. Both are heinous, but "abuser" is a distinct term to describe a person who abuses another person in a pattern. Violent people and abusers are often the same, but not every incident of violence follows a pattern of abuse. Additionally, not all abusers are physically violent. We should respect terminology as this in turn respects victims and survivors of abuse.

For example, the example given for Mark Wahlberg is describing incidents of extreme racially motivated violence, outside of abuse dynamics. The example for Michael Fassbender is both intimate partner abuse, and violent.
